Because he's the most disturbing looking human being ever. That leering stare. God...

Just curious OP, what is your preferred type of music? I'm guessing you are probably into Metal right?

I'm not much of a DMB fan at all, but Metal-heads have always had the biggest hard on for DMB. Its always been odd.

I hated DMB for a long time but I've found a good bunch of songs that I actually really like. Can't recall which albums. I certainly haven't explored the entire discography but I like about every other song, which ain't bad.

All of the music majors I worked with at A&M hated him. They claimed he stole great musicians and forced them to play ****ty music.

The Dave Matthews Band is one of the greatest collections of musical talent in the last 25 years.

They're a group of fairly talented musicians that have some really well written and catchy songs. Kind of hard to dislike, really; I get the feeling the backlash is more directed at how people feel about their 'typical' fan. People I think they get associated with 'frat bro' ***** culture, but even if that is a portion of their fanbase, their music is much better than that.

What event happened so recently that you felt the need to make a thread about how much you hate them?

His wine label makes a pretty nice, cheap red blend. Also, his album with Tim Reynolds is solid.

Ive been to over 30 shows and the 'typical fan' really isn't the frat bro at all. Realize people think that who aren't close though.

Actually a pretty diverse group from hippy liberals to 40ish yuppies. Met lots of fun and different people in my many shows.

Irritating in which way? I'm not a huge fan or anything, but the hate for them has kind of taken a life of its own, like people think they need to jump on the "Hate Dave Matthews" bandwagon. I think their hate has more to do with their fans than the band themselves.

I don't hate them (that is reserved for divas, bro country and contemporary Christian). I just find them boring and don't get the love.

Prefer the cab, but yes. Best $12 bottle you can buy.

Dave Matthews makes the best $12 bottle of wine you can buy? I highly doubt it

Here's my beef. I saw them at ACL in 2009 which I was excited for as they are a band that I like a few of their songs but not enough where I would go see them at a concert with just them headlining. So I watched an hour of their hour and a half long set and didn't recognize a single song they played. They winded up playing Ants Marching and So Much to Say near the end but that was it. They spent the entire hour we were there playing new tracks and deep cuts that they seemed to have a blast playing, but that no one listening enjoyed hearing.

I get they are a jam band. I get that they tour a lot. I get that some of their fans have seen them 20+ times. I get as a band that you probably hate playing the same songs every night. But come on. They have a lot of singles and there is a good portion of every concert that is people seeing them for the first time. Especially at a festival where no one is there to see only one single band, you'd think they'd play some songs people knew.

Here is the setlist from the show.

As a DMB fanatic, I can get the gripe.

But damn, that's a great set list in my opinion.

Thats an insanely bad ass set list. These last 2 tours with 2 sets and about 3 hours of music have been good too.

I get that you want to see the hits but I used to love going back to back night in college and seeing two completely different shows.

Why I Am - Jimi Thing - Spaceman - Cornbread - Burning Down the House - So Much to Say is a killer 35-45mins.

What you call deep cuts are fan favorites though. 1, 2, 8, 11, 12, 15, and 16 are some of their mainstays and typical crowds go crazy. 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9 are from the album they released right then in 2009, so obviously they would play from it. You saw a great set list for a DMB fan.

I've seen DMB 3 times in concert, and that set list would be the best of all 4, if I went

Is Dave Matthews the 90s/2000s version of The Grateful Dead?
