My vote was almost duplicate to yours. I went with Licensed to Ill instead of Slim Shady.

SEMIFINAL RESULTS - UPDATED after i paid for Pro results to see more than 100 responses.

Edit - since I got into this myself I went ahead and paid for a month of access to let me see more than 100 results. thankfully it did not change the results of the first round (same 12 were the top 12) or the semifinals. In other words the trend held for the remaining voters as well. Only the vote total changed.

The Top 4 which advance to the final round (in alphabetical order) are:

Boston - Boston
Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin
Pearl Jam - Ten

I will not show their vote totals at this time - so as not to influence final round voting. They all received between 42 and 68 votes out of 119 votes cast.

The following are the other semifinalists and their vote totals....Beastie Boys missed out by 1 vote

Beastie Boys - Licensed To Ill - 41
Van Halen - Van Halen - 37
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced - 33
Stevie Ray Vaughan Texas Flood - 22
Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album) - 20
Eminem - The Slim Shady LP - 20
N.W.A - Straight Outta Compton - 18

Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More - 16

Editorial comment - like the Punk votes in the first round - it seems like the Rap/Hip-Hop vote got split in this round and kept any of the big three (Beastie Boys, NWA, Eminem) from reaching the finals. Of the 62 people who voted for at least one of those albums, only 16 of them voted for two of those and only one voter had all 3. the 45 that voted for a single one of them were split across the three. This is kind of similar to what happens in hall of fame voting sometimes it seems.

I have upgraded to PRO plan - paid $26 for the month since this was my idea - and updated the results above.

It's only fair to have all votes count.....I don't want to see ay organized protest of
#NOTMYGREATESTDEBUTALBUM

PS - also went back and verified the first round Top 12 would have remained the same.

Well then, I guess we should just do a greatest album of all time contest now since you have a whole month. Might as well not waste it.

further statistical analysis.......

How many voted for the Top 4.

Out of 119 votes:

All Four - 5
Three of the Four - 27
Two of the Four - 45
One of the Four - 31
None of the Top Four - 11

9 people voted for ONE album only and 7 of those were from the Top Four, so 2 were for some other album - VH and Mumford specifically.

Yeah, Boston's 1st was phenomenal, but Are You Experienced blew the lid open....before Zep, Sabbath, etc. How many guitarist influenced by Hendrix vs Scholz? Like to see that poll. Wish I could hear the response to that question of the guitarist of the album that got 22 votes here.

Interestingly I had not noticed or considered we have 4 decades repreesented here....

60s LZ Led Zeppelin I - 1969
70s BOS Boston - 1976
80s GNR Appetite for Destruction -1987
90s PJ Ten - 1991

Have any great guitarists ever listed Tom Scholz as a major influence? I recognize his talent but I can't recall hearing anyone I respected name him as an influence. (cue Boston fanboys linking dozens of articles to prove me wrong)

Scholz had more of an impact on the hardware side, IIRC. He engineered all of the effects pedals and mixing techniques used by Boston.

I guess everybody has their own set of criteria for "best" but this poll isn't about "most influential guitarist" or "most popular album" or "best band" or "best body of work AFTER the debut album."

Agreed but I think how influential the album was definitely helps the argument for best debut album.
