Y'all are tough. I enjoyed the season a ton.
I think most are just disappointed it wasn't what we liked about Sherlock. It felt like an entirely different show.

I've seen some follow up interviews with Mark Gatis (show writer and Mycroft portrayer for those that have a life and may not know) where he says that if they do more they have set up the show moving forward to be a straight detective series with a more mature and emotionally developed Sherlock working on cases.

It's kind of like Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory, right? 8 or 9 seasons later, he shouldn't still be a complete moron about realizing if he says certain things it will hurt feelings, or not getting sarcasm.

I had read last year the BBC/PBS had ordered a 5th season and Cumberbatch had signed on. Is that not happening?

wow this season ran the gamut.....

Ep 1 - middle of the road on the surface, but in retrospect it was setting up so much for Ep 2
Ep 2 - genius one of the best
Ep 3 - unlike anything else in the series, really out there, left me flat

I hope there is special at some point between now and season 5 to resurrect things so to speak.

If they'd do a fifth season, I'd want the emphasis back on solving mysteries that the audience has a chance at solving as well. I enjoyed that about the first two seasons.

If they wanted a unifying thread through a fifth season, though... it might be fun to make it around Irene Adler, and maybe kill Sherlock's brother. That could force some interesting character growth. Though Sherlock might be one character people genuinely want to see remain static, so character growth could backfire in a big way pretty easily.

It's really just a shame they killed Moriarty in season 1. He's great, but I don't think they can stretch him out as a bogeyman from beyond the grave any longer.

Edit: oops. Didn't mean to hit angry face.

I'm pretty sure it was season 2.

I just want a fifth season because I want Irene Adler to make her return. Her episode is probably my favorite of the entire series.

I think her exposure was one of the best, if not the best.

Just caught the 3rd episode. Didn't feel like the same show. Second episode as others have said was great though. Got back to Sherlock as a crime solver.

Ending of this third one was definitely rushed. Could've spent less time building up the suspense with their "lab rat" sequence on the island. Felt that ate into time on the back end.

Enjoyed the sister side story some, but don't think they carried it out as well as they could've.
