I still think Tyene escapes, yes I know that she was poisoned but they spent a lot of time last season explaining how they all built up a certain level of immunity to poisons, and even when Cersei was explaining her revenge plot to Ellaria they made note that the time it would take to kill would depend on the victims own level of immunity.

Now I predict that after the Lannisters get routed Bronn some how saves her and gives her the antidote. She saved him once and he owes her. Plus if he shows up at camp Targaryen with her he will have bought his way back to the winning side and he gets to hang out with his buddy again.

Agree. There are already enough plot points to wrap up in the remaining 10 episodes, and Dany's army has taken enough hit on the "local" support that it doesn't really matter about Dorne. This will be about dragons, dothraki, unsullied, and the north/vale now. I thought that was proper closure to Ellaria and Dorne.

So Dorne was pretty much pointless in the story? Got it.

Because I was watching the most obvious metaphor for sexism in the workplace, the most stereotypical man-versus-woman job interview in fake history.

Here's this orphan girl, who spent the better part of her life being subjugated by men, toiling endlessly to rise up and do some good along the way (ahem, she freed a bunch of slaves). She's now in a position of power, backed by a killer rsum. She's a working mom with three unruly toddlers, she's proud of her accomplishments, and she isn't about to be all modest about it.

And here's Jon Snow, a ******* with no birthright, yes, but a white man who apparently needs no introduction just the same.

The ENTIRE GOT fandom knows this scene was intentionally done to bring a little levity into the scene, and also to show how different those in the north are compared to the rest of the kingdoms.

And yet here we have someone who found a way to get offended about something that was humorous, and nothing more.

Oh I suppose they could still be rallied to fight. They supposedly have a formidable army. Probably pretty unlikely, but in a show with dragons and the undead it's not impossible.

Dorne story is going to be black and white different than the show.

To get back to discussion about this week's episode, I do not expect much in terms of repercussions against Tyrion for his battlefield losses. Again, he is Hand of the Queen, not Commander of the army. Certainly, Dany was counting on his strategy to work, but Tyrion is not a battlefield commander, he is a political strategist and city manager. Essentially, he is a Senator while Jamie, Sir Jorah, Sir Davos, and Jon are all 5 star Generals. Dany doesn't have anymore 5 star Generals since she left Daario in Mereen but now she conveniently has Davos and Jon on her island. I expect Tyrion to admit as much in his pleas to Jon and Davos for help.

It's a little presumptuous to assume that Jon is good military commander. Certainly we wouldn't assume that from his horrible showing in the Battle of the *******s. And Davos is just a pirate. As far as I know the Battle of the *******s is the most successful thing he's been involved with. I guess he was with Stannis when he caught the Wildlings unawares and slaughtered them.

That these are the military men Dany has to rely on doesn't seem like a good thing. The Unsullied have also seemed fairly incompetent throughout the show. The other side has Randyll ****ing Tarly. But Dany does have dragons.

Davos made a name for himself as the "Onion Knight" during Robert's rebellion. Davos evaded the blockade of Shipwreck Bay to smuggle onions and salted fish into the castle, knowing the starving people would pay him the best price. The food allowed Stannis' men to hold on until Ned Stark arrived to break the siege. As a reward for his service, Stannis knighted Davos, giving him choice lands and allowing him to choose Seaworth as the name of his new house.

Yeah, I meant to say smuggler, not pirate. It was supposed to be a reference to the books where he's always saying he was "just a smuggler" when he finds himself in situations he doesn't feel qualified for. Anyway, he's not a military man.

Dany has no generals really. Dothraki are used to raiding towns and other tribes they have never fought organized infantry and horse. Jon has a decent grasp of tactics per the BoB planning scenes. Jorah, at least as mentioned in books and show, has no military leading experience.

Of course a sneak attack with Dothraki and dragons would be consistent with Dothraki "tactics" as opposed to siege.

Turns out Jon Snow's intro wasn't about Femisism, it was a wake up to call black America!

Her only accomplishments were achieved because she was born in the right family and had dragons dropped in her lap, yet she expects everyone she comes in contact with to "bend the knee." The only reason Daenerys even pretends to care about the rise of the "Alt-White" Walkers is that she needs an endorsement from our people in the North.

Trust me, Daenerys Hillary Targaryen Clinton doesn't believe that #UnsulliedLivesMatter.

Acting question: are actors told not to blink? That scene with Dany and Jon meeting, I don't think anyone but Tyrion blinked at all... maybe it's supposed to convey the rising unease in the room. But especially when Dany walks down from the dais toward Jon, neither of them blink for like 5 minutes there.
