Ben Kingsley would've been a good Jafar. Would've fit the creepy old man vibe of the original.

Gonna be real hard for that dude to pull off Aladdin's charm, real hard for Will Smith to be as entertaining as Williams, and really hard for them to make carpet a viable character. That works in cartoons, but I can't see it working live action.
