Agree with that mostly. But that guy just got on my nerves more than any of the others.
If you played at Florida St and were a National Champion would you not feel the exact same way?Vernada said:
He didn't just think he was the best qb... He thought he was too good to be demeaning himself at a place like that.
That's how he always came across to me.
OT: It's incredible the words I hear come out of opposing coaches' mouths, and where it's sad is when it's at the kids (I get this is about college students, but I'm extrapolating). We've had junior high games where I can hear the opposing junior high coach cussing a kid for missing a catch or a tackle. Heck, we had one varsity basketball team we played against where, no joke, their best player was partially crippled (they had no business being in a UIL basketball district). They were inept and had no clue how basketball should be played. At halftime their coach spent the entire time cursing the kids calling them worthless pieces of excrement and the like. Needless to say, the coach was reported to his school, UIL, and the superintendent. The kids were giving what they had, it just wasn't much. I won't say the coaching staff where I'm at never cusses, but we have a very strict policy when it comes to around the kids, and we police ourselves on it pretty strictly.Andyzipp said:Things have changed in 25+ years, but every football coach I ever played for did this.Quote:That annoyed the hell out of me.Quote:
I enjoyed the series. I wonder if the head coach could get a bigger gig if he kept his temper under control. He really didn't seem much different than the players. A guy who has a lot of potential, but just can't get out of his own way.
I also found it funny everyone he'd rip into his team, cussing and screaming, and then jump into the Lord's Prayer.

Resurrecting this thread bc I watched S1 of Last Chance U this weekend, because, well, I really need football to start soon.
I came away thinking that the head coach is a total joke/hypocrite. In one sentence he is screaming and cursing and then the next he is leading the most lackluster Lord's prayer I have ever heard. He starts calling everyone thugs, and berating them right after he got suspended for not being able to control his temper. Finally, they show him on the recruiting trail trying to convince another recruit to come join his family. I don't know if that is to be expected for a college coach, but it is a sick mind game that he is playing.

Both seasons of the show are sad to me. From the coaches to the kids to the teachers.
