New series on Netflix. I'm 2 episodes in, and it's good so far. Maybe not as good as "Vikings", but it's worth watching.

There was some discussion last Fall when it ran originally on BBC America.

I need to catch up before Season 2.

How good is Vikings? I have so many shows to watch, but intrigued by the number of fans of this show.

Vikings is very good. Some episodes are average, but you'll get hooked.

3 episodes in, and The Last Kingdom is really damn good. My only complaint is the lack of hotties and almost no nudity.

Is this the same as the one that aired on BBC? I bought the DVD a few weeks ago on a whim and really enjoyed it, thought it was just a mini-series.

Yes, it's the same series.

It was picked up for a second season, to air sometime in 2017.

It is badass and follows some of what is known about Anglo Saxon history. If you're looking for a medival historical drama that doesn't take much artistic license with costuming, this really good.

The first few episodes you may have to slow it down to catch the myriad of characters, but then it comes on strong. Nice pacing.

It started very strong, then went off the rails a little, and then finished the season strong.

I think it's way too early to say it's better than Vikings.

It's better than Vikings solely on the story line, writing, accuracy
Vikings is a lot of fun, but it isn't actually very good television, imo.

Is this based on Cornwell's series? Cuz I've read all his books... he's one of my favorite historical fiction authors.
