The team my grandson's team was playing last weekend played Barbie Girl a couple of times for walkups - great way to motivate the player(s).

Our walkup songs are for entertainment purposes.... Not motivation.

Even at 9, if they need walkup music to motivate them at the plate... the coach is doing something very wrong.

Even at 9 I'd have had the good taste to request Metallica or the like for walk-up music.

At the worst it would have been "Eye of the Tiger."

The best baseball player I have ever seen had Build Me Up Buttercup as his walkup song in highschool. It was quite a change of pace from the usual "pump up" music.

Ours did as well. We have a mix of Metallica, Fall Out Boy, FloRida, Ozzy, etc. Those are the artists they requested for their usual walkup songs which we've used all season.

This thread is about putting together a one-off walkup song list for ONE game.... Maybe even just one time through the lineup... Just as a surprise and to have some fun.

In college I played against a team that had guys come out to Cher - Believe and It's Raining Men.

The song was written by They Might Be Giants and its at the end of one the CDs my kids listen to in the car. Love the album but I always forget about that damn song.

I have a 9 year old baseball player, and I always threaten to embarrass him with Hot Dog from MMC. Anything from Frozen is also good because they learned it at an age before realizing that it's for girls and not cool anymore. Any Jakes on the team? Jake and the Neverland Pirates is a good one too. Imagination Movers might be good. Paw Patrol too.

Pretty much. We use a portable tailgate style bluetooth speaker. It has a built-in rechargeable battery. Sorta similar to this:

I made up 10-15 second clips for each walkup song, per the kids' choices. We just play them off a parent's phone in the stands.

We also play music when they are warming up before the game... And between innings.

I should add.... I live in Flower Mound. If you're in Coppell and are class of '97 then we very well may have kids around the same age... possibly even playing against each other. Not sure if your son is playing rec ball or select.
