I think he's funny. Never thought much of him on SNL, but he's awesome on Portlandia. He's a master in the art of deadpan comedy

Apparently he was frequently (at least) verbally abusive to his former wife.

I think he's hilarious. I don't watch much of Seth Meyers' show, but their little intro bit that they do is always great, and (supposedly) completely improvised every night.

Supposedly a serial womanizer, which I don't think I would have guessed.

Portlandia and Documentary Now! are brilliant, so he's aces in my book.

I think one of the reasons a lot of people found him funny was that he was part of that group on SNL that were constantly laughing at each other on stage. Fallon, Horatio whats-his-name, Armisen. I called them the "over-laughers." Sometimes they were legitimately funny. Lot of times, though, it was just schtick, IMO>

Fallon and Armisen were only on the show together for 2 season and Armisen was only a Featured Player (little screen time.) Armisen did another 11 years on the show.

Totally agree though. Horatio Sanz was terrible too. At least everyone knows how terrible he is though. Although he was pretty funny as the 80s Joel cover band in Stepbrothers.

Portlandia is one of my favorite shows on tv. It kills me pretty much every episode.

I thought he was part of that gang that was always cracking up together during skits. Oh well, can't keep all those guys straight. Thanks for clearing up.

he was hit or miss for me on SNL.
on weekend update he did several - the "garth and kat" ones with kristen wiig were completely stupid, but always made me crack up. others, though felt like the joke was on the audience - like the brazilian band leader type comic (frerecito?). then there was the "newspaper observation" comic. i could appreciate that he was spoofing such an un-funny jackass type of comic, but again, the joke was sort of on the audience in how it was intentionally unfunny.

portlandia is a perfect vehicle for him. i love that show. completely absurd.

i also really like him on late night.

I think he is excels at being the secondary character, and sometimes stealing the show. not great as the leading man, though Portlandia is hilarious.

That would be more accurately described as your opinion.

Portlandia is is amazing and he played a hilarious character in "Eurotrip."

Never thought he was that great, but have hated him ever since he started playing Obama in SNL. I know it's a stupid reason but can't help it.

Portlandia is genius. He's obviously funny.

And he's a musician and likes good music, so that makes him cool in my book
