What did jaqen ask arya? Do only the wicked die?

Great episode.
Didnt like the wights becoming zombies like the world war z movie instead of slower walking dead types. Climbing on the ceilings like rats? C'mon.
It didn't seem like Hodor's death is going to buy Bran Meera and Bran enough time. A White Walker should be able to ride them down easily.... Unless they get rescued by Coldhands or some other good character north of the wall. (Benjen Stark?)

Agree on both points. I found the climbing on the ceiling stuff pretty unnecessary. And also thought bran and meera getting a 90 second head start when meera is pulling a sled is probably not nearly big enough a head start unless they find a great hiding place or like you said, someone saves them...
quote:The passage of time and distances traveled in this show are distracting to me. I'm sure most don't really care, but damn, how long has Sansa been hanging out in Castle Black? Ramsay has done nothing in the entire time LF took the army of the Vale to Moat Cailin? Oh, and then he goes all the way to Mole's town? That alone is like a month.quote:They have westerosi transporters..so Brienne will be in Riverrun in two episodes. And the Iron Fleet will reach Mereen by the last episode of the season.
How long does it take to gather the forces of the Vale and march to Moat Cailin then to Mole's Hill or whatever? Maybe they should have had that Littlefinger scene in the Vale last season instead of last week?
Do they have to pass through the Twins to get to Riverrun and will we get a scene with the Freys this season?
quote:According to the synopsis on HBO's website, Bran wargs into present day Hodor, and young Wilis is somehow affected b/c Bran is currently sightseeing in the past.
I'm pretty sure Bran didn't warg into present Hodor, but rather warged into past hodor, which either unlocked/transferred Hodor's original conscious back to present time and had the ability to save bran and meera in that moment. Bran doesn't have a clue what is going on except that he warged into past Hodor due to hearing Meera's voice.
He was the link between present and past hodor
quote:The younger version in Bran's vision isn't terrified until after he collapses.
Meera yells for the panicking Hodor to get Bran onto the sledge. Faintly hearing Meera's pleas for help even in the past, Bran wargs into a terrified Hodor, who pulls the motionless boy through the tunnels alongside Meera, chased by wights from all sides
quote:Does Bran really affect the past? b/c Hodor has always been Hodor as far as Bran was concerned. Is this like Battlestar Galactica where everything has already happened and will happen again?
C) Bran's ability to affect Willis (Pre-Hodor) in the past is a total departure from what TER has said in the past, that the past is unable to be affected.
The biggest reveal (IMO) of the whole scene is that Bran is strong enough in his abilities to affect the past from him Warging into Willis and "creating" Hodor.

The poor guy is just asking someone to hold the door for him, since he's always carrying someone else around. After a while, "Hold the door" became "Hold the doorHold the doorHoldoorHodoor. Dammit! Hold the door!" His mind finally snapped, and now all he can say is Hodor.
quote:Agreed. I also think he knew. He had that little wry smile going on when trying to say he didn't know. He knew. He just didn't realize Sansa was gonna blow him up over it. He thought he'd still be seen as the protector.
I think LF's days are numbered. With that stated, he'll probably slink to the end bc that's what worms do. I have always thought LF was annoying. #LFrantover
quote:It'll never happen. She's a Stark, and a main character. That means she's off limits. They'd never kill her off. She's definitely coming out on top.
I still think Sansa is getting too bold, too fast. I have a bad feeling something is going to go wrong for her.

As pointless as Summer's death was, there might have been heavy symbolism there. Summer is gone. Winter is here
quote:
Edit: I know he's technically not the lord of the Vale, but he's its puppet master... So he's basically the lord of the Vale.
quote:I just can't see this being the last we see of Jorah. I think he is certainly still doomed to die, but I could see his quest for a cure serving a different purpose. Perhaps he travels to Asshai and finds out something else about dragons, WW, etc. Someone better effing go to Asshai in this series after all of the stuff they have said about it. I thought it would be Dany based on book stuff, but it's starting to seem less likely.quote:Supposed to treat it in Vinegar. Which is sort of what Jon Connington is trying to do. I assume Ser Friendzone is done with the show.
Speaking of Jorah, would they give him the burnt hand like Victarion? That's the only "cure" I could think of to keep him around, cause otherwise that was a lame end for him
quote:
In the other thread I mentioned the probability of predeterminism in the story. To the TER, a 4th dimensional being, he sees the past and the future as things that have already happened, all past tense.
Meaning, before Bran even existed, his arrival at the tree (apprenticeship) and seizing young hodor already occurred. It is set, there is no agency, only playing the role determined before your own existence.
Notice the TER told bran he has been waiting for him, not "someone." He knew Bran and only Bran would fill this role. He knew Bran was marked by the nightking, without bran revealing it and HE WAS COOL(CALM) WITH IT. He has seen all this. It's the nature of an oracle.
quote:The Jon-Sansa tension they are trying to develop is definitely interesting. I think LF has to stay loyal (or what serves as loyalty for him) to Sansa to keep the Vale happy though. He can't really justify turning on Sansa now after his big pitch to get the Vale mobilized is solely based on supporting her. That being said, you know he is going to do something. Perhaps he will redeem himself to Sansa enough for her to at least be on somewhat better terms with him. Maybe the Frey's interject themselves in the Brienne-Tully situation, and the Vale clears the way for them to continue north. Maybe the fight at Winterfell is going south for the Stark alliance but LF defies Sansa and shows up anyway to support their side and save them from the brink of destruction.
How can anyone find Littlefinger annoying?? He is one of the most cunning, intelligent and manipulative characters in this series (most especially book LF). He literally went from nothing/getting beat up by Brandon Stark to becoming a part of the small council... To now being the lord of Harranhal and the Vale. Damn. How can anyone not respect that?? He's so cocky he even made his own sigil lol gotta give the guy mad props. I truly think he underestimated Ramsay, and will now try to make up for it. The Vale will never side with Ramsay. And again, LF is still manipulating the crap out of Sansa by dropping the "Jon is only your HALF brother" which seems like it changed her course. He's got game.
Edit: I know he's technically not the lord of the Vale, but he's its puppet master... So he's basically the lord of the Vale.
