Personal wishes aside, I just also feel like all the deaths and tragedies are less effective if NO ONE succeeds. I get the whole realism aspect of war he likes to portray in his books, but usually someone gets what they want. Having him be betrayed and die but still succeed would be good.

Now that we're nearing the end with NO resolution in sight I'm wondering if he's not just going to kill everyone and the ultimate theme is "everything sucks ass."

The real question here is why are all of Ned's compatriots left handed? And I believe Ned himself used his right hand in the Season 1 scene where he fought Jaime. Just a weird thing I noticed.

Definitely agree; while it's one thing to defy trope, at some point too many deaths just becomes bad storytelling. Jon is a good example. His actual death, (and by death I mean disappearance from the story for good) would mean that almost 1/4 of the action, foreshadowing, and emotional heft of the story was just...nothing. Pointless. Not to mention that one of the real issues with the story, both in the books and onscreen, is that they've killed off most of the really interesting characters, and the replacements are underwhelming. Ned, Drogo, Lord Commander Mormont, Robb, Cat, Joffrey, Oberon, the Hound (yes I know but he's out of the story for now), Tywin, Maester Aemon, and Stannis & Selmy (show), plus all the ones I'm forgetting. Without them the characters that are left aren't quite the same. It's not insurmountable yet but it's an issue and one that I would imagine the show, at least, is aware of.

OK, there are some leaks out there that are based on leaked scripts and pretty much covers the entire season.

A lot of the information matches up to many of the stories posted on Watchersonthewall that covers the filming of the show.

I read all of the details and find most of them plausible, but there are as few BIG events that I know will be very divisive.

Again, this is assuming this information is true, but I believe a lot of it is.

Yeah I say lets keep this to book spoilers/speculation. If you are bringing in spoilers from leaked scripts and things like that, then put in spoiler warnings at the very least. You could also just speak in general terms and provide links to true spoiler threads like the last few posts have done.
