Why's that? A sequel could be better. And if you don't want to watch it, just don't watch it.

Personally I'd love to get a sequel. I've been watching these characters for 10 years and was thoroughly entertained by this one.

Also, I'd hardly call it a box office bomb. If it fails to break even, that's one thing, but $17 million in five days against a $30 million budget isn't that catastrophic. And then there's international gross and bluray/VOD grosses.

It will need to make more than $30 million to break even. Those are just the product costs. The theaters don't show these things for free.

I am glad you liked it. But the public spoke with its dollars. They stayed away.

Making 60% of its production budget back in five days does not qualify as a bomb yet. Do you follow the box office much?

There's a lot of factors that have to be considered here, most importantly competition. Why WB decided to put this out in the middle of a crowded summer season doesn't make much sense. If they'd released in February or March it would've had a better opening.

Two things that bugged me.

1) the big screen really showed how bad of actors these guys are.
2) the chick's in the pool at the screening were looking at the camera like it was a rap video

Brian:

This thing is going to tail off like a rock falling off a cliff. People that were wanting to see this things have already done it. They will be lucky to make $4 million his coming week. After that is all but assured to fall out of the top 10 to oblivion.

I am not suggesting people are cutting their wrists. But they will not green light another one. The franchise is over.

And it was fun for a time. But like all things it has run its course.

It's an Entourage movie. I just can't believe there's an article that long trying to figure out when it's taking place. Nobody cares about references to post-2012 events, it's a fictional universe anyway.

It's not really trying to figure it out... It's poking fun at it, because it's so blatant and ridiculous.

This.

I enjoyed the run, but the show is starting to feel like a relic. Just let it be. I'm with ce1994 - It was fun, but it's run its course. The bro-ness, the misogyny, the storylines, etc are all starting to feel like parody at this point.

It is rare for these shows not to become parodies. Seinfeld at the end was brutal to watch.

Agreed in general, but I actually loved the final season of Seinfeld. The finale itself obviously sucked, but I thought there were some fantastic episodes that last season.

Hah. Not once in the movie did I think "Hey wait a minute, this is 2012, that reference doesn't make sense!"

They referenced the death of Bin Laden in Breaking Bad, even though it was taking place before 2011. Even though I caught the mistake, I literally did not give it a second thought.

You'd have to be trying pretty hard to find these continuity errors bothersome in any way while watching the Entourage movie.

There's truly nothing better on the entertainment board then watching Brian get defensive about stuff he loves

There is not a thing in the world wrong with putting your brain asleep for a few hours and enjoying something mindless. Will Ferrell cracks me up and his is some of the most low brow stuff you will find.

This is how I picture Brian when watching anything Entourage, Tarantino, Star Wars, etc.

God forbid I post about the things I enjoy.

I admit to being a Star Wars and Tarantino fanboy (as are many on this board), but I'm pretty sure I've never posted about Entourage before this movie.

Wife and I saw it today at rhe Domain Ipic. Her first movie since 2002 and mine since The Passion of the Christ. We loved the series so we both enjoyed the movie. My only beef is that Amarillo has had a facelift dince I was last there. Oh, and Ari's wife, still a hot.

Yea, she has a short attention span, plus it was raining. Plus the fact that she can have a beer or a margarita and decent food makes it an easier sell.

Maybe of you tried picking a decent movie, you might go more often.

Man. two movies in 11 years and they were both stinkers.

That movie was so bad it was actually entertaining. But this is what these things turn into eventually. Take any movie that Clooney, Damon or Pitt does with each from here on out. It is just one constant circle jerk. Look at us. We are insanely rich and we got hammered last night.

Passion of the Christ and Entourage.

This movie in a nutshell.
quote:
Armie's cameo in Entourage is crazy to me.

Cavill: You are in Entourage?

Hammer: [Laughs] Yeah.

He plays himself.

Cavill: Really?

Hammer: An angry, mean version of myself.

In real life, you're famously married, but in your cameo, as yourself, you are single and hitting on women.

Cavill: That must be very odd.

Hammer: Basically, I play Emily Ratajkowski's ex-boyfriend. And Vinnie Chase is dating her and I say to him, "I'm going to choke the life out of you, don't ****ing turn your back." That kind of thing.

Cavill: This sounds like fun!

When you read it, are you like, "This isn't me. I'm not dating Emily Ratajkowski?"

Hammer: I can almost say with 100 percent certainty that I wasn't in the original script.

So, that was written for somebody else?

Hammer: Or "anybody." I think the way it works with the cameos on Entourage is they basically sent out mass emails, "Can anybody show up? Please? Just show up. Help us!" kind of thing. I actually know Jeremy Piven and he's like, "Hey, dude, are you going to be around on Tuesday?" I was like, "Yeah, I'm an out of work actor, I'm around all the time. I have nothing else to do." He's like, "You want to shoot a day on Entourage?" I'm like, "Sure!" It's so funny, I showed up and they're like, "Okay, your trailer is over here," and I go in and it's empty. I go, "Is there a costume? Do you have something you want me to wear?" They go, "You should just wear your clothes." I'm like, "I'm not dressed to be in a movie!"

So, what we see is just what you showed up in that day?

Hammer: It's literally what I showed up in. I asked, "Do you guys want to do my hair or anything?" And they said, "Nah, we'll just kind of leave it as is." I was like, "Ah, oh no!"

Cavill: I would not feel comfortable with that.

Hammer: All's well that ends well I guess.
