All these concert list.....how about one more?

Mine's a tie. Social Distortion around '93 at some club on Washington (in Houston). The Vatican? Anyway, the first and only time I've had to leave because I couldn't handled the beating.

The other was Them Crooked Vultures at Stubbs a couple of years ago. Might have left that too except I was on John Paul Jones' side of the stage, but about 8' away from the speakers. Hung in there...felt like the Maxel guy.

LimpBizkit at that venue in houston connected to hard Rock. It was free napster tour. Front barrier

Interesting that you said Them Crooked Vultures. I am not a big concert goer overall but I would say mine was QOTSA. Almost to the point where it took away from the overall show.

On Beck' Odelay tour in 97ish, opening group was the German electronic group Atari Ternage Riot. They were booed offstage for being so ****ing loud. And, also not very good at all at making music.

Godammit! Social distortion?!? If I had a list of bands that I will never get to see, but wish I did:

1. Social D
2. Rancid
3. Ramones
4. Beastie Boys

I was at Them Crooked Vultures. It wasn't overly loud where we were.

For me it's Motorhead and it's not even close. Lenny Kravitz back on the 5 tour at Bronco Bowl was pretty loud too.

I saw Social Distortion once. I thought they were terrible but I'll admit I'm not a fan.

I was supposed to be there but had the flu.

Worst I've ever seen was Motrhead at Warehouse Live . It was pointless.

Skinlab, Hatebreed and Slayer at Austin Music Hall.

Close second is Static X, Slayer, Pantera at Verizon in Dallas (outdoor venue so not as loud as the indoor)

During the Korn concert on the Sick and Twisted Tour they claimed they were setting a new world record for loudest concert. I don't know if it was just hype or not, but that concert was louder than anything I'd ever heard before or since.

Let me begin by saying I have been to several VERY LOUD concerts which has resulted in some pretty severe hearing loss. I experience constant ringing and have for the past 20+ years.

Legs Diamond at LA Semana Alegre in San Antonio in front of 30,000 people is without a doubt the most deafening concert I have ever attended . I stuffed paper towels, candy anything I could find in my ears. I thought for sure when it was over I would have blood running out of my ears.

A live album was recorded that night and I am photographed on the back cover on the front row. So I got two mementos from the show. The cover and damaged hearing.

Ted Nugent in '77 and AC/DC in '77 or close runners up. Once again front row of to the stage left near the speakers.

I have not attended another show without ear plugs since 1990 and I strongly suggest if you already don't wear them get a pair NOW. The damage is not worth it. Here is what I use and you still hear everything just not as loud.

Any Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires show is going to be loud but the show at Sky City in Augusta, GA was the loudest show I have been to.

If you havent heard of them look them up. Just not if you are overly conservative politically. Great southern punk.

If you are talking Grand Prairie, then that's what I was referring to as well.

I was in the last row of the lower level seats (between GA and the upper level) and it was still crazy loud.

I have been to countless shows and I'm here to tell you that there was none louder than Black Label Society at a crappy club down in Friendswood/CL called "VQ Live" back in the early 2000's I want to say. To add to the absolutely ear-splitting volume, they ran outta beer. WTF runs out of beer for a metal show??? Only show I have EVER left early because of volume, and I was a huge fan.

Next loudest is probably Soilwork in the Warehouse Live Studio area. Just stupid to have a band like that in that small a space. Still love those guys though...

Oh, and I was at that Bosstones show at Fitz, it was loud as crap (and hot as hell) but not in the ballpark of the BLS show I mentioned above.

For me it was the Metallica Summer Sanitarium tour in 03 at Reliant Stadium. The openers were Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit. There had only been a handful of concerts held in Reliant at that point not including the rodeo and many people complained of poor sound in the upper decks. They must have cranked the speakers up to 11 that day to make sure there were no dead spots in the stadium. I was in the back lower levels and my ears hurt after Mudvayne.

I can't imagine a band louder than Motley Crue. I heard ringing for a good two weeks after that one. Joe Satriani in a Trees club show is number 2 in loudest shows I've seen.

Dropkick Murphies at Starlight ballroom outside of NYC. L.O.U.D. I lost most of my hearing in the Army. That concert didn't help.

AC/DC at the Austin Erwin Center, but it was balanced very well and had great fidelity and I dug it.

The screaming girls were much louder than The Beatles when I saw the Fab Four at Memorial Auditorium in Dallas, back before concert amplification could exceed deliriously excited crowd noise.

They only had small guitar amps to reach the audience, Ringo's drums weren't miked and the vocals went through the house PA without any monitors on stage.

J certainly understand why they preferred making music in the studio with that inadequate concert set up.

Freddie King's guitar was the loudest instrument I ever played with on stage.

That dude could bring it.

Gig 'em, FAST FRED, '65.

Before the world wide web, village idiots usually stayed in their own village.
