Kinda glad I hadn't paid to steam it yet.

Rogen certainly wasn't going to sell a bunch more videos with his brilliant social commentary this week.

So how has the movie done financially?

Major loss. Partly because it's terrible...landing jokes at maybe a 4% rate...but mostly because it's terrible and it got ****ed over with the whole hacking thing.

I think the last I read was that it had absolutely no chance of coming close to breaking even.

Happy they were at least able to make their money back. As crazy(and interesting) as it was to read about the inner workings of a major Hollywood studio...I wouldn't wish a hack like that anyone.

Saw it on Netflix. I went in with really low expectations but thought it was funny. Glad I didn't "pay" for it but it was good.

Have to agree with this assessment. I liked Pineapple and End. This felt very forced, Glad I didn't pay for it- but also upset I wasted my time.

Some of you are rating this based on Rogen's sniper comments. This movie made me chuckle quite a bit.

Saw it on the 26th, way before Rogen's comments on a movie that I haven't even seen yet.

When I saw it on the 26th, I thought it was possibly one of the worst actual big studio movies I had every sat through. Just utterly awful. Sure I chuckled here and there, but I also thought it missed on the vast majority of its jokes, and the funniest parts of the film were all packed in the first 20 minutes. After that it was a mess and only got worse. But yeah, probably comments that came out a month later. Good call.

I thought it was quite funny. The hardest working member of that crew was whatever they were using to honeypot up Lizzy's boobs, though. She is super cute, but getting that cleavage took special effects on par with Kiera Knightley in Pirates.

The funniest part was the Eminem interview, I thought. Tough when you peak that early.

This is begging for some sort of recurring online feature, though. Would love to see Franco give outrageous interviews prompting big confessions from A-listers.

I don't have any problem with what Rogan said about American Sniper. I believe he was just saying it was similar to that movie in Inglorious *******s. He never said Nazi movie.

Fact remains, the Interview flat out sucked pretty much. The Eminem interview would have been awesome if Franco's over the top character didn't ruin it. It was like they couldn't write enough funny things so they figured they would just make his character be so outrageously over the top that people might think it was funny.

Just watched it. Went in with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I've spent more time and money on worse movies

Zero expectations because I saw it free on Netflix. I liked it. Franco was hilarious and I absolutely loved the tiger scene.

I was entertained. Set my expectations extremely low for this one.

I wish I was considered one of the best in the world at my job and had people that viewed my work go in with low expectations so that they might be pleasantly surprised. I understand you can't always make a good movie and that the trailer might have set up some of the low expectations, but it's still sort of a strange idea. Now if my neighbor's teenage boys made a little movie and wanted me to watch, there's a case where going in with low expectations seems extremely appropriate. They aren't "comedy geniuses". But with Rogen, and to a lesser extent, Franco, plus maybe some of the writers or producers of the film, you'd think expectations should at least be middle of the road.

Oh by the way, I had low expectations too. Lol amirite? And it turns out this movie was really bad. I'm pretty sure the script was written by a 6th grader. Next time, I'll try to set them even lower.
