Dude is such a nut job. What a disturbed weirdo. I also can't imagine a single person clamoring for his Flash movie. Hopefully this means it's back to the drawing board either way.

Side note, I've been to that bar. Really makes you think....

JJ Abrams' company Bad Robot will be working on Justice League Dark for HBO Max.

https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/justice-league-dark-series-the-shining-series-hbo-max-jj-abrams-1234582489/

JL Dark usually deals with the magical side of the DC Universe, and includes Swamp Thing, Constantine, Zatanna, and Madame Xanadu. Wonder Woman is actually currently in JL Dark in the comics.

The team was first introduced in 2011, with a live-action feature film based on the comic books having been in the works for years. It was most recently reported in January that DC and Warner Bros. were plotting both film and television projects in the "Justice League Dark" universe. An animated film was released in 2017, with Keanu Reeves having played Constantine in a standalone film in 2005.
This reads like there was a 2011 JL Dark movie, but I know there wasn't. Right?

I'm sure this was discussed a while back but I ran across Titans on Xbox last night and bought the first couple of episodes just to try it out.

Thought it was pretty good. I've read online where it seems to be in The Flash / Arrowverse but do they do a lot of crossover with those? I loved both those shows early on but when they started crossing over so much (literally had to watch both of them back to back to stay up to speed) I kind of lost interest. I think I last watched Arrow in season 4 and Flash may have been in Season 3 at that point.

Anyhoo, not sure I want to get to far into this if there is going to be massive crossover that requires me to go back and watch the other shows.

The only time I remember the Titans being referenced in the Arrowvers was the big "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover, and then just briefly. in fact, I had to read some stuff afterward to even know who those characters were.

Keep watching Titans. Season 2 is really good, especially early on.

Have you watched Doom Patrol? It's my favorite comic book tv series ever.

Stargirl started today and was actually pretty good. Swamp Thing was awesome, but cut short.

A lot of smoke around the infamous Snyder Cut right now.

Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap hinted that people should watch Zack Snyder's Man of Steel watch party Wednesday morning.

That and news was recently released that Snyder screened his cut for the newer WB staff back in February (although one person reported they thought the cut was total crap).

Umberto is as legit as they come in the superhero news world. That said, I keep reading reports that while the cut exists, and that Snyder did, in fact, screen it for WB execs in February, there's still a sh*t ton of effects work and even additional photography (without the primary cast) that would have to be completed. Apparently WB was (and still probably is) considering forking over whatever it would cost to complete, so as to have a piece of content that would be a huge subscription draw for HBO Max (owned by Warner Media), but then the pandemic of course hit and plans I'm sure are now up in the air.

I don't really care if Snyder's JL cut ever comes out, but it'll have a ton of people, including me, watch it out of pure curiosity.

I've also seen talks of it being a 5 episode series on HBO Max.

The only thing is that if it's any good then people will want the original cast and plan back.

Man. I think what they did to Justice League was bad, but I don't have any faith that Snyder's version will be any better. When I read the breakdown of what parts of JL can be attributed to Snyder and what to Whedon, it's kind of 50/50 who added good stuff and who should be blamed for some crap.

IIRC, Snyder's original version would have Wonder Woman fail to save that bank at the beginning. Martian Manhunter would appear. Darkseid would be set up (but, I guess, still never seen since Part 2 was essentially cancelled).

I think most of all, it's a mistake to have such an uninteresting villain in Part 1, with the assumption that people will stick around for (or that the studios will give you) a Part 2. It'd be like if Infinity War had the Black Order and no Thanos at all. They're just CGI henchmen. Steppenwolf is a CGI henchman, leading what's supposed to be the biggest film of the franchise up to that point. What a mess.

I'm morbidly curious as well, but that's the thing. I just can't see it being any good. This was the REJECTED version of the piece of crap that ended up being the final product. Granted, maybe in the time since, Snyder has found a way to not only salvage it, but make it better, but I just don't see how.

Also the Knightmare situation comes to fruition, and Flash goes back in time to reset some events. At the end, Batman dies in a Final Crisis type showdown with Darkseid.

At some point all three of the trinity die, and Snyder even foreshadows it in BvS during the scene right after Superman dies. There's three crosses in the background (Snyder confirmed it).

I swear if he cared as much about just making a good movie as he does about symbolism and foreshadowing he would be a great director.

Haven't watched Doom Patrol yet but have heard about it. Seems like a package deal with Titans like Arrow was with Flash, but that's fine. Since I'm coming into this new I don't mind watching both.

It's actually a separate universe and completely unrelated. You'll see a version of them in Titans, but the show is much, much different.

I feel like they're just opening Pandora's box..

People on social media are already trying to claim the actors are getting back together and they're going to make sequels and have two cinematic Batmans (Affleck and Pattinson).

There's not a chance in hell they get Affleck back to film more scenes. MAYBE the other cast members, but even they're a long shot. I think any additional filming will be nothing more than second unit type stuff.
AgfromHOU
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Right. They were going to let Affleck have his movie until he backed out due to his alcoholism.

I wonder if they will allow it to become canon or not. It's already semi-canon in Aquaman.

I watched some of Justice League Sunday afternoon with my 2 daughters (age 8) during the commercials of Black Panther. Even two 8 year old girls recognized that movie was terrible. Their comments during the film included:

"Everything looks like it's on a computer."

"What is wrong with Superman's face?"

"Why does Superman even need all the other people?"

"Why does Batman talk in that voice when everyone knows he's Bruce Wayne?"

I really liked Wonder Woman and I liked the first half of Bats/Supes a lot, but every single person on earth knew it was a terrible idea for them to rush out Bats/Supes and then jump straight to Justice League in an attempt to catch up to Marvel. Everything since except for WW and most of Shazam has been just a series of steps down to the basement of disappointment for the franchise that has - for most people's money- the two most beloved superhero characters of all time. How can the heads of this studio make such terrible things?

I'm one of the few who thinks highly of Batman v Superman. That movie grew on me over repeated BluRay viewings, even the Doomsday part. But most people could see the developing train wreck that DC was building toward when they opted to head right into Justice League.

Right from the outset of that movie, I knew it was going to be bad. Going back to BvS, you had that nightmare sequence where Batman saw some critters (known as Parademons) with imagery strongly suggesting the coming of Darkseid. Then right there at the beginning of JL, Batman kills a Parademon. WTF? No explanation of how it got to be there, how Batman even knew what it was, etc. No build up to that at all. Imagine if Marvel had come along with the second Captain America movie and had Cap suddenly fighting those alien-looking things that comprised a lot of Thanos' army.

Steppenwolf was one of those villains that was completely laughable, a worthless and non-menacing character all the way around. When Superman asks the rest of the League, "Is this guy still bothering you?", I wanted to say yes. Steppenwolf bored me to tears. I don't profess to be the most knowledgable of comic book character origins and all that, but I do vaguely know that Steppenwolf has a familial? connection to Darkseid, so what they were doing with Steppenwolf was obvious as a setup to the real baddie coming in the second half of their Justice League tale. And that is the most aggravating thing with this entire fiasco of a movie, in that I feel like we'll never actually get a live-action Darkseid movie.
