Fair enough. In that case, make it two posters that were confused by third's follow-up question after asking who dar was.

Reading comprehension can be difficult after such a thrilling episode... I can understand that.

I thought Quinn has a kid. Remember her finding something in his apartment back in the first season or two? Or am I making this up?

Edit: Went back and looked it up... Quinn had a child with some cop chick, not the German embassy coordinator.

Don't forget, it was Dar that had hired Quinn to originally kill Brody to cover up the drone strike on the kids in Iraq.

So is the deal that Lockhart is being kept out of between the CIA and Haqqani? Is the CIA treating with Haqqani to go after bigger terrorists?

Should be an interesting season finale.

I hope Dar Adal ends up like this:

If Dar dies, who will narrate all the nature shows?

The guy that says "previous, on Homeland"? That's Saul/Mandy Patinkin.

Plus, if we've learned anything yet, it's to wait and see what angle he's pursuing. If he was behind the CIA attack, which I have a hard time believing, then I do too.

Anyone think Carrie & Quinn being able to walk freely in the street because they are wearing a hat is a little unrealistic?

So Carrie was willing to kill Saul to get this guy just a couple weeks ago but now she cock blocks Quinn. I don't get it.

Losing the Iranian girl has really broken her.

Damn what an episode. I think adal has the US best interests at heart, but he's a shifty scumbag in my opinion.

Could be setting up Saul for a return to the CIA. He did ask him about getting back into the game earlier in the season.

The show is a more accurate portrayal than a skeptical former CIA agent expected it to be.

Two thoughts:

1. I really hated inserting Dar Hadal into the mix, without any kind of hint or heads up beyond Lockhart's gut feeling. It kind of reminds me of the "Dallas" twist of it all being a dream. Additionally, it is completely unrealistic. A guy as senior as Hadal doesn't get to leave Langley to go on an op, legit or not, into Pakistan without a bunch of chatter making it to people as senior as Lockhart, Saul, and/or Carrie. Finally, after the killing of dozens of Americans at the embassy, Haqqani would not let anyone who ever thought of breathing a patriotic, American breath within 100 feet of him willingly. There is no telling how anyone with American interests in their background would react to that taking place. I just hated that development. Oh and, ISI knows about Hadal but no one at Langley does? Child Please. I almost went "Bye Felicia" because of that.

2. I think that after Carrie calmed down from the hallucination episode and after seeing Ayan gunned down, I think she has had a mental breakdown that hasn't completely shown its face. I don't think she is able to pull the trigger on any Muslims anymore, except to avenge Ayan's death. There is literally no other reason for her to call off Quinn, and then herself pull the gun. She has gone nuts. I do think that Saul knows something is up as Carrie getting into position to cover for the Marines looked really difficult for her. Like it was her first time holding a weapon. I do think there was definitely something there. She has been around so much death this season that the only death she welcomes is her own. Killing Haqqani would have caused her to die then and there.

The season finale......................... almost fell asleep

What was the point of this entire season if Saul is agreeing to not touch Haqqani in order to become CIA director?

Right there with you. As Carrie drove away from dar's house I said out loud: "this finale has been so lame so far" then my wife started laughing as the credits rolled. Wtf???

If it weren't a bad season finale, it just wouldn't be homeland.

Overall though the season was a huge improvement, and they did renew it for season 5.

I think the problem in my eyes is that this season has been really really good, and then the last episode nothing really happened and the things that did happen kind of make the things that happened somewhat pointless if Haqqani can't really be targeted next season.

Also, I'm not looking forward to the possibility of dealing with more Carrie drama at home with a child/new brother etc.... Those are always the worst parts of Homeland and this season was great because there was not one scene with Brody's family in it.

My guess is that Carrie will contact Peter, unload on him, then Peter will go rogue and try to take out Haq next season,.

Agree with folks that tonight's episode sucked.

That said, how did you not see it coming with last week's episode. They wrapped the Pakistan story last week and introduced Carrie's father dying and her feelings for Quinn.

That was the single worst season finale I've ever seen, and one of the worst episodes of homeland ever. Of any TV show ever. What the hell just happened.

Glad you all agree. However, if their goal was to keep me on the edge of my couch because I felt no less than 5 times like something was going to jump out and blow up. When they made out I felt like Dar was going to have Quinn assassinated, a few times when Carrie was pulling out of the driveway (remember season 1 or 2?), on the road to Missouri, when she was tucking Franny into bed... I guess I was just so trained to have all this action all season that I was expecting something to blow up.

I understand what they did. They are setting things up. It is supposed to be an "ultimate betrayal" but this is complete crap. Saul was ready to take his own life once by his own hand and second with the suicide bomb boy. He fought back and told them never to make a deal and everything. Now he has one little "ooh I want to jump back into the CIA" with Mira at a hotel room and that is supposed to make us believe that everything else Saul has ever done makes us think he would give up killing Haqqani for the Director role again? Please. How freaking lame. Now we are going to have a season 5 of "Saul the political animal" and a Carrie/Quinn romance.

Barf.

I was thinking the same thing when they were making out. What a letdown of a season finale.

Preview for the finale showed a news clip of the Pakistani Embassy being bombed. Also seemed like trouble follows them back to the states. Going to be intense.

Are we supposed to know what "the video" was? Because I have no idea.

They better not kill off Quinn on his mission to sandland. The emphasis on the goodbye letters leads me to believe that they will.
