It's amazing they let Norm host the EsPYs back in 1998, and let him totally be Norm in front of that crowd.

"Hey, there's Charles Woodson. You were the first defensive player to win the Heisman, and that's something they can never take away from you...

Unless you murder your wife and a waiter. "

His whole monologue is great: http://youtu.be/2mhUIIhcTb8

Brian Regan. Hands down funniest of all time.

I can listen to his first album over and over and laugh every single time. His routines are part of my every day conversation.

This thread inspired me to re-listen to Medium Pace by Adam Sandler, and for that I am thankful.

Obviously, very NSFW language.

I'm of the few people in the world that doesn't think Brian Regan is funny. I've tried to like him but I just can't

Saw someone else mention him. If it's not strictly stand-up, then Andy Daly is my all-time favorite comedian

Brian regan is one of those guys that I just like OK, but I really respect his talent. You hear tons of other comedians say he is the absolute best in the business. I can appreciate how super talented he is as a standup, how he can milk every last laugh out of a bit that most comics couldn't do much with. He's like Rush for me: I see the immense talent there, but I'm not likely to listen to it on purpose very often.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
1. George Carlin - Saw him live in 1990 and is my all time favorite performance.

2. Louie CK - Shameless

3. Mitch Hedberg - All Together

4. Dennis Leary - No Cure For Cancer

5. Bill Cosby - Himself

I know he is corny and stupid but I saw Gallagher live when I was about 15 and got splattered with watermelon. While he doesn't rank in my top 5, that was an unforgettable night.

The Daves: Chappelle, Attell, Cross, and Spade.

Take the Hit is still my favorite single performance.

It was a sad day when they cancelled Sports Show with Norm McDonald on comedy central..

Norm has a video podcast on YouTube that is great. I've only watched a few but the ones I have killed me. David Spade, Andy Dick, and Sandler episodes cracked me up. Super Dave Osbourne was amazing as well.

Quite a few of these guys have routines on Netflix.

Names I've seen listed that I discovered on Netflix and found their shows to be hilarious and rewatched are Tom Papa (2 shows) and Sebastian Maniscalco. Not mentioned yet but highly recommend his show is Don Friesen.

I picked these based off of star ratings and would classify as PG with smidge of PG-13. I would recommend to my friends, relatives and parents -- really funny stuff. Check them out if you have a chance.

The Fred Willard one is also really good. The Andy Dick one is maybe one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time.

Bill Hicks - he died way too young. But his satire, gut blows to the establishment helped shape my modern perspective. He could see hypocrisy so well. I had the privilege of seeing him from his earliest days a number of times at the old Comix Annex in Houston in the 1980's. A truly brilliant comic.

Carlin & Cosby would also be on my list.
