Set in Texas' Silicon Prairie in the early 80s, this series tells the story of the beginning of the PC race.

Looks very promising particularly you're an EE type. I was in high school in the early 80's, so It will be interesting to see if they are as true to history and style as MM.

I just came in here to say that every time I see a commercial or ad where it spells control as "ctrl" i think of Homer saying "Cuhtarl"

While I don't think it'll be up my alley I'll give it a shot just because it's AMC and it's set in the 80s

the previews make it look like a dud, but the pilot got a decent review so i'll give it a shot.

I just dont understand how this makes a series.

What is the story arc for S1? S2? S3? At some point they hit it big? Then what? If they dont, who cares?

What are they just gonna have a series of legal battles? As if we dont have enough of those on TV as if.

It seems to be very dry subject matter. I too don't know if it is compelling enough to support a series.

I thought that they were going to hire his wife. I guess they have to save some plot elements for the second episode.

the newer version of Kevin Spacey seems kinda neat at least....was cool when he nailed that armadillo!

Liked it enough to be back next week.. Might have been better as a movie?

Pilot was pretty good, and I'll for sure keep watching, but yeah, I'm definitely wondering how this story potentially lends itself to multiple seasons.

I liked it. Mainly because it's set in Dallas written by a Dallas local (yeah I know it's filmed in Atlanta which is annoying). The wife works for TI. The main office looks like something from North Dallas. The Dad looks like my one of my friend's dads who worked at raycom. The interior of the house looks straight out of Garland. One complaint - where's the smoking? Need cigarette smoke against those sad brown walls for real garland authenticity.

I'm intrigued by the main character and like everyone except the annoying girl.

Yeah those pine trees in the parking lot don't exactly scream North Texas to me.

if they keep the early 80's music going it buys them some time to get it interesting.

I love Lee Pace so much. Glad to see he's back on TV.

its a decent first episode. I think they did a good job setting up everything, but I dont know how they are going to add any action or drama into it. Either they build the machine or they dont.

I hope this isn't a warning sign, but AMC only released the first episode to critics. The only other show that does that is Mad Men, but that's just because Weiner is a spoiler freak. Nearly every other show sends the first four or so eps of a season to critics early. So it's kind of weird that literally no one outside of AMC has any idea where the plot of this show goes, and hopefully it's not an indication that they're "hiding" a bad product. We'll find out Sunday...

It was ok. But so far not enough show. Will give it a full season though.

Don't have much to add other than I liked it...just watched it last night on the DVR to try to cure my insomnia and I had no problem staying up.

Any of you guys watch Fargo? Haven't really heard anything about it. Should I get caught up?

Yes. Watch Fargo. It's a fun ride so far.

Good enough to keep watching, so I guess it has been successful so far.

Like the earlier posters, not sure how the story will last long.

I'm enjoying it so far. the story is slowly evolving but AMC does such a great job with how they shoot shows they always feel different and special.

Breaking Bad had kind of a slow start. I've learned to give AMC the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their original programming. First 2 ep's have been pretty good.

*I'm not saying this is going to be anywhere near as good as Breaking Bad...just that it started rather slowly, too*

Watchlisted. I've enjoyed the first two episodes. My dad was an electrical engineer/design group manager for Texas Instruments for 36 years, starting in the mid-late 70s so a lot of this stuff isn't that foreign to me. Should be entertaining to see how this unfolds.

Saw the first episode and was bored. I couldn't make myself watch the second. And, this is from a geek who used to work for TI.

I'm done. I tried really hard, but I just can't get into this show. Removed from the DVR list.

^ Wow. Was literally coming here to post how much I liked this episode. First one I've truly been pulled in by. Was shot beautifully, with a couple great twists and turns. Feels like it's finally starting to find its identity. Starting to see Twitter really come around to it too. Figured I'd see similar reactions here.

I don't see where this show is going. And I don't see it moving very fast either.
