Never saw War Horse
Though Tintin was decent
Thought Indy was decent
Munich was great.

To be honest, the last Spielberg movie I really didn't like was The Lost World

i'm tired of action movies in general. hollywood has given up trying to create any sort of plot in them anymore. it's just one ridiculously long fight after another or giant explosions over and over again. that's not a movie. that's just a bunch of special effects for 2 hours.

THAT AND HOLD THE DAMNED CAMERA STILL!!!!!!! AND I DON'T NEED 4-VIEWS OVER 1-SECOND OF THE ACTION HERO WALKING DOWN THE STREET.....it's like people in Hollywood forgot some of the basics.

Someone wrote this story for a film with an action character and rather than take a risk with it and throw it out there, they decided to pay a license fee to Clancy and slap the Jack Ryan brand on it and they are assured of at least a baseline of people going to see it because they read every book Clancy wrote, and a larger number of other people that are familiar with the films go see it because they know that this is a franchise film and they saw "the other ones" too.

I get this, but why are they rebooting the entire series and completely changing the character of Jack Ryan? They could have kept the same title, and made a few minor tweaks to the story, and it would have fit perfectly.

There are several points in the series where Jack Ryan could have been instrumental in developing Fred Smith, the Shadow Recruit. Re-writing the character of Jack Ryan is just stupid and confusing.

What if Jack Ryan is just a code name, a-la Jason Bourne or James Bond?
