she looks constipated in nearly every scene. my guess is she tried having an accent, and the producers realized how awful it was, to go along with her terrible acting...and they said, eff it, just do whatever you feel comfortable with. turrible

And she should not try to act. At least train for a British accent...
You realize Maria Von Trapp was Austrian right?

Right...cause Julie Andrews used an Austrian accent.
Just don't speak Oklahoman is my point.

Carrie Underwood is hot, don't care about the production. I'd watch her doing taxes.

She is doing well for this being her first theater production. I don't see why everyone is complaining. Since they wanted a conventional singer, who else could you possibly choose?

NBC execs are buzzing this AM with ideas for more live events. Nothing firm yet, but there will be more.

NBC’s big winter gamble paid off: The Sound of Music Live! delivered a massive audience Thursday night.
The three-hour performance of the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical delivered 18.5 million viewers and a great 4.6 rating among adults 18-49. This is by far NBC’s strongest non-sports Thursday night performance this season; the network had had all sorts of ratings headaches on Thursdays this fall given its troubled comedy block. Sound of Music was Thursday’s most-watched show last night and tied CBS’ Big Bang Theory in the demo to win the night.
While skepticism about NBC’s Sound of Music stunt ran high leading up to the show, viewers were generally enthusiastic about last night’s performance, which went off without a hitch.
