I know it was shot in Waxahachie, Palmer, and surrounding area, but does anyone know the exact location of where the roadside motel was?

It of course was named the "Mariposa" for the movie and I think it was just a small farmhouse, with maybe one of the structures added.

I've always been curious but have not been able to find anything on the net re just where this is.

Quality flick. Underrated.

'Hachie. Just an abandoned shack a mile or so off 287. It was owned by the Hobel family, and they basically just let the film makers have it.

This is truly a great movie. Well-acted, understated, great cast. I personally believe that Robert Duvall has declined as an actor in the last 10 years, falling back on old mannerisms. That is not the case here: he is in prime form.

One of the few movies that moved me to tears (the game of catch at the end).
