How long do you want to ignore this user?
Who here watched this (list age at the time). I loved this show but was like 6 and really didn't understand the plot. I just knew it had a sweet opening theme and a badass helicopter in it every week.

Just saw it was on Hulu and might watch a few episodes.

Watched it a few times, had already done a hitch in the Marines and graduated from A&M, thought it was totally unbelievable, like most TV. I'd have to go back and watch it again to see how good/bad it was for the time period.

I don't remember my exact age, but it was elementary (born in 80). I thought it was pretty awesome as a kid. I'll have to check it out and see how misguided I was back then.

I was pretty young too. Back then I think I would have been good watching the opening credits over and over for half an hour. The rest of the show was just "Words, words, words, sweet helicopter scene, words, words and more words".
Red Five
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Loved it. Best opening theme of any show of the era, though A-Team comes close.

A few friends and I rewatched the pilot episode the other night - totally terrible! Stringfellow Hawk is a creepy old man that basically date-rapes a girl at his mountain retreat and then the government convinces him to come back and help them out by holding his ART COLLECTION hostage.

The series was awesome, the pilot episode; not so much.

On a side note, if I had to pick another XBL screen name, Stringfellow Hawk would be a great choice.

I loved that show as a kid. Bullet and missile proof! Badass theme music. That helicopter could go faster than the speed of sound!

I bet I would think it is totally stupid today.

I enjoyed the show, I also got a kick out of the same stock footage used for any missile miss.

Thought it was awesome when I was a kid (maybe 8 or 9?). I'm sure it's a pile if I tried watching it now having never seen it before.

You can't top growing up in the 1980s when there were 2 shows about futuristic helicopters, a show with a talking car (Knight Rider), The A-Team, the Misfits of Science (yeah, you watched it), Street Hawk and Manimal.

Hellfire Missiles ftw!

Manimal is a lost classic.

I was a big "Tales of the Gold Monkey" fan as well.... much better than "Bring 'em Back Alive".

I was 10 or 11 when it was on TV.

I watched the hell out of it. Loved it then.

Have seen about 3 minutes of an episode as an adult....and that was enough!

Airwolf, Miami Vice, and Magnum PI; 3 of the best theme songs ever. I was like 9-10 when it was on and loved the helicopter stuff like everyone else.

Was in elementary school and I loved the show. Bad 80s show plot and use of stock footage to be sure, but eh.

I actually have the opening title music on my iPod, that's a great theme.

Airwolf had Ernest Borgnine, fool.

Why did every vehicle show eventually have to have a "Oh my god, there's 2 of them! episode"

Hawke is interrupted during a friend's ceremony when Archangel arrives to inform him that Hawke is suspected in a train robbery where the thieves used a Santini Air helicopter and a weapon similar to one Airwolf carries, to stop the train. Hawke, Santini and Caitlin are baffled when the FBI finds the getaway chopper, complete with several bullet holes, parked at Santini's hangar as further evidence. Archangel uses his perks to help Hawke as much as he can but then he is dismissed from the F.I.R.M. under suspicions that he may have also been involved in the robbery. Investigating further, Archangel discovers the F.I.R.M. has built a second Airwolf, dubbed Redwolf, and the designer, Harlen Jenkins (Wings Hauser), who is still loyal to the notorious Dr. Moffet, has a personal vendetta against Hawke and set up the robbery to get him out of the way. Once Hawke is let out of jail, a deadly showdown begins against Jenkins to see which wolf can outmatch the other.

When most tv shows began going to a minimal, if all out no theme song period, I initially thought that was great. More actual show. But the more I thought about all the opening credits and theme songs from the 70s and 80's shows (and some of the 90s), the more I miss them. Many of them actually did a great job of setting the mood for the show - Mash, The Wonder Years, Magnum PI, MacGuyver, and possibly the best one of all, the Cheers theme song.

And who can forget The Fall Guy opening credits when they showed a glimpse of Heather Thomas in her blue bikini! Awesome when you're a kid!

I was firmly on the Blue Thunder team. It was like a blend of Knight Rider and Air Wolf. However, my Blue Thunder team got it's *** kicked by Air Wolf in the ratings and only lasted a season or so.

This is probably getting a little personal, but Heather Thomas on The Fall Guy was either when I first discovered that I was heterosexual or what made me a heterosexual. Regardless, I can guarantee that she was the catalyst of my life-long infatuation with boobs.

I was a pretty tough 8 year old but I cried when I learned that Airwolf was cancelled.

Loved the show as a kid. Couldn't even make it through the pilot a while back it was so bad. Guess I should maybe give it later episodes a shot where they already have them set up.

I remember the Nintendo game that couldn't have been more dull even then. Not as bad as the Ghostbusters game that didn't work at all, but bad.

I would add Knight Rider to that list too...
