Why was that red rated?

The swedish version was great. Lisbeth was perfectly casted. I have my doubts about an American version, but will give it a go.

Really?! I thought the Swedish was just alright. I guess it would be good if you haven't read the books, but the movie missed half the story. If you watched the movie, you'd think the whole thing was about investigating the murder. Really, that's just half the book and half the story.

I think Fitchner will do a great job with this movie.

It's Sony's holiday tentpole- they are authorized to spend ****loads on advertising on this, and will.

More likely, anybody who would care or can do anything about it is not at work on a 3-day holiday weekend, and the buzz on it is somewhere between positive and gushing, so no harm done.

F to the YES! I never really look forward to book adaptations because they are never as good, but DAMN that is sexy.

It's red band because there is at least one topless shot (35 second mark).

I say go in blind, the books should still be very good.

Trailer did look awesome and I am looking forward to the American version. I am not a fan of subtitles and Swedish is a pretty guttural, ugly sounding language.

I was able to see the trailer three times before it was pulled. Very good. I might catch it in the theatre, although it's hard to say what my schedule may look like at the end of the year.

So I was just reading a little blurb on the new movie, and they said Mikael is a much nicer guy in this version, Lisbeth is a little darker, and the ending of the movie is completely different than the book.

Hmmm.

I'm going to have a hard time seeing Lisbeth as anyone besides Noomi Rapace. I thought she did a great job.

I liked the Swedish version. Just be prepared to read a lot of subtitles. I thought Noomi Rapace was great. Didn't really like the guy that played Mikael. I thought they could have gotten a guy that at least rated a 5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The guy was hideous.

However, not sure I would watch that one first. I'd wait for the U.S. version.

I agree with agmatt06... it looks like they took a clean cut girl and dressed her up. Noomi looked like she lived the role for a while.
