Interview with Keanu regarding Matrix 4.... this is out of nowhere. I know the last two kind of sucked, but since the first was a masterpiece, and they probably want to make up for the last two films.... this might be interesting.

Article from Aint It Cool News

"Says he met the Wachowski's (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro's and con's of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie. Wachowski's are working on a movie called "Cloud Atlas" at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again."

Seriously doubt they have intention of making a 4th for the sole reason of redeeming the last two films.

Redeeming their bank accounts, more likely.

Seriously? You dont think actors go back to the cash cow?

Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry ranted and raved about the X-Men 'trilogy'. Oh? A movie all about Wolverine? Sure thing!!

The only redeeming part of 3 was the battles.

2 was just a boring Philosphy class.

I say this is all seriousness:

after the abomination the series became, I'd rather see a second and third "Speed Racer" film from the Wachowski's than I would a fourth and fifth "Matrix."

They blew that hard.

You must have not watched the movies too closely. Neo = Jesus. Would it be too obvious for them to call it The Matrix Resurrection?

i think i am one of the only people who really like the trilogy (the 2nd is my least favorite of the 3)...but i would not want to see a #4 come out

they said in the end of the 3rd that some day he would return

I thought the 2nd one was not good. But I liked the first alot and the 3rd one was alright.

i think the "resurrection" was more a part of the 1st movie....this would be more of an Apocalyptic return imo

yes the end of the 3rd resembled the crucifixion of Christ very obviously but i think there is too much time between the 3rd one and now for them to make that tie in. especially the conversation at the end of the 3rd movie between the oracle and the girl. it points more toward Neo's/Christ's triumphant return.

I pretty much don't even recognize the other two films with the original film and I'm happy with that. There is no need to come back to The Matrix other than needing to line their pockets more. Can't fault them, but I won't be interested.

Oh no, I definitely was including the actors in "their" bank accounts.

Hmm, I can see that.

I guess i'm in the minority that liked the trilogy also. I never understood why it was **** on SO much.

The 1st one was awesome, but the last 2 were unwatchable. I can't believe they think they can make a 4th one.

2 was watchable but forgettable. 3 was an abomination that only George Lucas could have appreciated. Maybe they could redeem themselves.

Too much grief given.

The Matrix was an all-time great for the genre.

The Matrix Reloaded was good, but stretched a bit. Still an enjoyable movie that lost many people because of its philosophical depth.

The Matrix Revolutions wasn't awful and had its moments, but was definitely disappointing and lost its grip.

I'd be intrigued enough to see it. I thought the second was decent as a connecting film but the third didn't really answer the questions it put forth.

I think the interesting time period that hasn't been covered would be between the first and second films. We never saw his development from his moment of clarity to total BA who understood the world of the Matrix, that seems like an area to explore with a lot of potential (it's touched on a bit in Animatrix).

The second and third films just didn't come anywhere near being as good as the first. It was like watching The Phantom Menace vs The Empire Strikes Back. I don't see what they could do in a 4th film that would be any different.

spot on, IMO

They REALLY got lost in the CGI of it all in #3, and it ruined the movie.

After the 2nd movie when Neo wtfpwns the sentinel in the real world (after he opened up his mind and believed he could down it), it opened up his mind to the realization that all the "freed" men in Zion were still plugged in. Another layer of control to mute the human spirit. Neo's powers existed in the faux-real-world because he was still manipulating the programming.

The 3rd movie could have been cerebral and about the liberation of man from control, standing upright in the sun. Instead its about plastic neo fighting an army of Hugo Weavings with traffic poll.

Looks like no one will be taking the red pill again anytime soon. Over the weekend, reports surfaced that during a talk at the London International School of Performing Arts, actor Keanu Reeves revealed, among many other things, that the Wachowskis had finished a two picture treatment for more “The Matrix” sequels with an eye to do it in 3D. One little problem however. Keanu Reeves never gave that talk.

We reached out to reps for the actor and were told that “none of it is true…he did not speak nor get an award from the from the London International School of Performing Arts.” So, chalk this one up to a fan hoax and nothing more.

gawd i was HOPING they were going to address this better in the 3rd and take it the direction you mentioned....instead it got like a 2 minute explanation and that was that
