How did they initially convince the people what happened?

I've been watching. I'm sort of torn on it - that kind of scenario has always interested me but at the same time the whole thing seems somewhat hokey. I've been impressed with some of the construction ingenuity, but at the same time, a lot of it smells so pre-arranged that I question how "genuine" the ingenuity is. I keep watching though, while hoping for another glimpse of Becka's incredible thong-wearing ass.

all you need to know is the first season was waaaaaaaaay better

mostly because of this guy, john cohn

so far the second one hasn't been as cool as far as what they have been able to build. the biodiesel was ok, the windmill is on par with things they did the last show

as an example of how baddass john c was on the first one he built a solar array that automatically tracked the sun to charge their batteries. he also built a crazy flame thrower, and some electric arc gun

think of all the apocalyptic movies you've seen, and they all have some crazy scientist who builds crazy contraptions and dirigibles for the final escape or whatever, and you have john c

i will say they mess with the colonists more in this season, as far as having outsiders raid their house and kidnap people and whatnot

I'm hooked on this show as well.

That said...some things are pretty fishy. Like at first they had no lumber or nails...now they are making things out of wood every episode with no mention of rationing lumber. They run out of food, but building supplies seem aplenty.
