Okay my wife and I were watching Angel's TV show last night. I have watched the show for years due to what I consider great camera work. My wife believes no camera tricks are involved and says if they were it would be difficult to keep that many people silent about it. People being the ones present and watching or involved in the production of the show. I guess our argument comes down to the fact that I say some of these tricks cannot be performed by just traditional magic techniques liek the Grand Canyon Death jump and have to have camera tricks involved. She argues that no camera tricks are involved but he uses traditional magic. I find it interesting on his TV show that every time he makes some one disappear he never shows them reappearing on the show. What does everyone who has seen his show think is actually going on behind the scenes? Also the plants he uses in the crowd are very convincing but are obviously plants and the fact that they say they have never met him doesn't impress me much. My wife disagrees with me on this as well. Last night he made a scorpion appear in a lady's mouth who he supposedly didn't knwo. If he did that to me and out a bug in my mouth by some slight of hand I would probably own the Casino he works in after the law suit was done.

Supernatural did an episode about magicians, and titled it "Criss Angel is a ****** Bag". Greatness.

Yes, he uses camera tricks. Yes, he uses plants. It's common practice in magic. Even with the closeup he does, observe the movement of the camera with the particular body movements he makes. It becomes real obvious.

Does your wife even know what "traditional magic" is?

Okay let me explain. My wife doesn't know what traditional magic is and neither do I and no she doesn't beleive in real magic. That was my term. I meant to say that she believes if we were present when he was performing these tricks it would look real because he would be using a trick he has learned and using slight of hand. Basically what all magicians do. I was saying that I don't think he even does that on the TV show and everything or at least a lot of it is done with camera tricks and if we were present it would be very obvious to us how he was doing the trick.

I've never seen a full episode, but I would guess there's some kind of disclaimer that says most of the people shown are actors, and that it's just for entertainment purposes.

He can do sleight...but utilizes a form of stage magic that relies heavily on plants and angles. That's his gimmick. I'll stick with Copperfield and Burton.

watch david blane.. i don't think he uses camera tricks, and the stuff he does is ridiculously magical.
i don't think the people involved in his street tricks are actors.. that being said, his slight of hand is like no other.

instead of him doing all the stuff.. he lets the people do it, which makes it that more amazing. He'll have someone get a $1 bill from their wallet, write something random on it, tear it up, then he'll put it back together, but it's a $100 bill, with the same thing written on it.
