Yeah, I was wrong about this movie but I usually know my stuff about movies. This movie was a complete surprise. From all the leaked photos and other commentary about the movie, it made it seem campy and another alien vs predator, but credit nimrod for really putting it all together.

I saw it and thought it was a good popcorn shoot'em up movie. It was much better the "AVP: Requiem" one.

When I was leaving the the theater I thought I heard someone say there will be a sequel. Is it already in the works like "Kill Bil1 & 2" or were they just making it up?

Solid movie. Very entertaing and I hope they make a sequel. It should be easy enough to do.

I saw it last night.

In the first scene I thought Adrien Brody should've used his enormous nose as an airfoil to save himself.

Then, after he crashed, I had to suspend my disbelief when the nosebleed from that prominently protruding proboscis wasn't more serious.

It's massive and injury to it should be life threatening.

I thought the first Predator with the two Governators was better.

And Danny Trejo died way too early.



I believe the latest Rambo was a better flick and could have waited on the DVD for this one.

My other movie option here in Marble Falls was "Knight and Day," so I trust I made the right choice.

I also thought the scene where Hanzo takes his shirt off, slowly takes out his blade, and faces their back trail to wait for the Predator was a bit cheesy due to that being exactly what Billy did in the first one. From that point forward I enjoyed that fight though so it wasn't all that bad.

Overall I liked it.

"Predators" is billed by filmmaker Robert Rodriquez as a sequel to the first movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, creatively ignoring "Predator 2," which starred Danny Glover and Gary Busey, and the two Alien vs. Predator flicks.

Smart choice.

It's open-ended, so a second Adrien Brody vs. Predator flick seems likely.

I thought it was OK, though sometimes hard to follow and/or understand, but not nearly as well-written or as suspensefully entertaining throughout as the 1987 original IMHO, although this latest flick was significantly better than the city-bound second movie and the two aberrant Alien vs. Predator franchise-fillers that followed it.

For me, the Predator concept seems to hunt best in a jungle.

I honestly thought it was going to be like the original where he just gets killed immediately. I was pleasantly surprised when he not only put up a fight, but killed the thing.

On a side note, did anyone else laugh their asses off when (forget the actor's name, Shane from the Shield) shanked the alien?

Speaking of that scene, in the previews they show Brody's character get targeted by at least half a dozen Predators. Did I miss that in the movie or was it just made up for the previews?

edit:I just saw on WWTDD that it's not actually in the movie, just the trailers.

I noticed that too. I wondered where all the targeting lazers were for that scene you see in the trailers.

Overall I enjoyed the movie. A bit of a twist at the end. Open ended. Overall, I thought it was good scifi action movie.

Enjoyed it.

Saw it last night...really liked it!

Debating a 2nd showing of Predators tomorrow or Inception.

Maybe I will do both.

I thought it was great for what it was and was definitely the second best of the predator movies. Of course no sequel of these will ever match the first, hell its probably my favorite action movie. My thoughts: SPOILERS







Trejo died to fast

The hanzo fight scene was awesome glad they added that exactly the way they did because my only problem with the first is that Billy was my favorite character and they didnt show him put up a fight.

I wanted to see the minigun take one of them out in this one.

The original scores used were great

I said walking out of the theater that it would have been hilarious if one of those parachutes at the end had Arnold attached to it saying "What the f***? I knew California had problems but this is ridiculous!"

I also conceed that it would have probably cheapened the movie considerably, but it was funny to imagine.

Saw it tonight & really enjoyed it. Good, fun & entertaining flick.

i liked it overall. i thought it was a bit darker than the original one...maybe my memory is off or maybe it's b/c arnold seemed to give me more confidence, but this one was a bit creepier from beginning to end.

i did like the characters. that's what they did best in this one which was like the original--you see these specialist type guys that are all respective badasses...so you sort root for them in different ways

btw, the only rule i've never understood (that seemingly has been abandoned) was that it had to be absolutely scorching hot during the summer...what happened with that? I know it was essentially disregarded in AVP but I would have preferred if this one had been more of a jungle terrain rather than a forest
