***SPOILERS BELOW****
Just saw a matinee with my wife. We both thought it was hilarious. The subtle pop culture jokes (as someone mentioned earlier) were great. Freakin' Lou going nuts everytime he thinks he's finally about to witness Crispin Glover's arm being severed (for some reason that really, REALLY struck me as funny).
quote:
Anyone notice the "White Nights" poster with Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines in Blaine's room.
Yes, and I laughed my ass off.

It drew me in early when they were showing a closeup of John Cusak and in the background someone yelled, "I WANT MY $2!"
This is a perfect example of the pop culture jokes. It was actually the dude talking on his big ass cell phone..."I'm calling you from the mountain, I win the bet, I want my $2". All set on a ski slope with John Cusack, where the "$2 paperboy" met his demise in "Better Off Dead".
Some others that I caught (though I'm sure I missed plenty of them):
I hope you guys realized that the dude with the moustache who made the bet over the football game was William Zabka, AKA "Johnny" from the Karate Kid. In that vein, during the final fight scene between Blaine and Lou, when they finally get the Chernobly back, someone in Blaine's posse yells "Get him a body bag Blaine, yeah!". Also thought it was hilarious that the credits rolled and the final cast member credit was "And Introducing William Zabka"
Cusack wearing that trenchcoat the whole time they're in '86 ala "Say Anything".
Cusack character Adam saying how much he hated the decade of the 80's, the very decade that MADE John Cusack.
A very obvious tribute to the final scene in "16 Candles", a scene that didn't include Cusack, but a movie that he was in nonetheless.
When they open their '86 luggage and Adam's nephew says something like "WTF, is that Hunter S. Thompson's luggage"....Cusack and Thompson were actually good friends before HST died.
