Does anyone else think this classic show from the 50's and 60's is still today pretty darn funny? It takes a lot for me to laugh out loud, and Beaver surprisingly does it for me often. Some observations:

*How is Beaver so dumb sometimes getting himself into jams like he does?

*Why does he always listen to his friends' bright ideas when it only gets him in trouble?

*How does a kid get stuck in a bowl of soup?

*Ward Cleaver was an awesome dad.

*Wally was a great big brother, always looking out for the beaver.

*Why was Larry Mondelo's dad always in Cincinnati?

*How come WHITY is now a derrogotory term, when back in the day it was a common nickname?

*Was Beaver interested ever in Chicks?

Yes, it is one of my all time favorites.

I think he had a self esteem problem and did anything his friends wanted so they would still hang with him.

Ditto, I think there was an "I'm not as good and handsome and popular as Wally is" issue too

Self esteem issue and peer pressure led to this hilarious episode, probably the funniest ever, except maybe the haircut episode.

Beaver fact: Did you know Hugh Beaumont was a minister in real life. He was an awesome dad but he did change in the series. In the earlier ones he was usually making a mistake in something he said or did with the boys. It was in the later years that he took on the God-like perfection.

True but he was the cause of Beav's self esteem issues. Too bad about what happened to him in Vietnam.

Have you seen Larry's mom?

Evil PC man, it is ruining America.

Actually in the second to last episode he wants to blow off the family vacation to spend the summer with his girl friend, of course even as he is entering HS Beav is as usual misreading people.

Can't believe you didn't mention the greatness of Eddie Haskell, he was the best and more of Beav's self esteem problems, "Hey Wally why is your stupid little brother hanging around ... Oh hello Mrs. Cleaver, I was just explaining to Wallace the need to look out for one's younger brother."

What happened to Wally in 'Nam?
He was in the updated Beaver shows in the 80's.
And yes, I think it's a great show....I used to watch it all the time in syndication when I was a kid.
Either of you guys ever watch the movie "Pleasantville"....the show that the movie revolved around was a tribute to LITB. It was great.

Section 423, The Zone.....where vocal cords go to die!

BRING BACK THE LSU SERIES!!

Not Wally, Tony Dow was killed in Vietnam per the urban legend.

Wally and Tony Dow were one in the same. Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond) was suppose to have been killed in "Nam". Turns out Ken was an L.A. motorcycle cop.

I had always heard that Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell) got into porn, but I guess that's the same urban myth that had Tony Dow killed in Viet Nam.

Is there any show in the last 20 years where you honestly thought, "wow, that guy is a great role model for fathers" or wished he was your dad?(so to speak).

Seems like all the dads I see on TV are bumbling idiots.
