I was watching the season 2 dvd's of The Office, and the first episode is "The Dundies." When they get to Chilis, Dwight says to keep acceptance speeches short, and then aims the comment to Devon. Wasn't Devon fired during the Halloween episode in the first season? I have noticed this before, but never really watched it while I was posting here at the same time.

The Halloween episode where Devon is fired is later in Season 2, after the Dundies.

Halloween episode was after the Dundies episode. Also if you listen to the commentaries the writers entertained the idea of making the Dundies episode the pilot.
