You knew this was coming, especially if you saw the third Clue ending to Wolverine, with Logan drinking in a bar in Japan.

Fox, Hugh Jackman and Seed Productions are in development on a Wolverine sequel, which will likely take place in Japan. The classic Claremont/Miller four-issue miniseries detailed how Wolverine trained as a samurai and ninja, fell in love with a woman named Mariko, and basically plotted his life as James Clavell fanfic. (Not that movie #1 really showed the character with an animal side.) No writer is onboard yet, but that shouldn't matter, since the first film didn't seem to have a writer, either. Wakka, wakka, wakka!

Some sites (IGN UK, for example) are reporting that Wolverine 2 has been greenlit, which isn't the case. Fox is working with Jackman and Seed to develop the sequel, but this isn't the studio saying 'here's a check, make it'. Granted, after the first film's opening weekend, question of a greenlight is probably moot.

you forgot about the Granfather that had the claws though..

I didn't notice that. It's a good excuse to read the comics again, though.

I read up to Wolverine's grandfather's deathbed scene. He didn't have claws. Although, one panel is misleading, as Wolverine's hand is held up in front of his face, and Wolverine's claws are out.

I wish I still had my weapon X series. I had the whole thing. Blah!!! The only two things that bugged me were the CGI on the claws and the timeline. There were two super obvious scenes where you could tell the claws were CGI...A) In the bathroom when he destroys the sink and B) When he's running through the prison cells releasing all the children. I'm sure there's more but I usually try to tune that stuff out so I can enjoy the story.

finally saw this last night, and i agree with most here on the critiques, although, overall, thought it was a highly enjoyable movie.

liev schreiber was amazing in this...thought he did a great job as victor.

the "cartoon claws" in the bathroom scene and a few others made me think of something from roger rabbit...with all the money in the world, that's the best they could do? also thought the cgi of professor x and the chopper at the end looked cheesy.

also, i've seen mentioned a few endings...ours had the one of him drinking in japan at the end of the credits, but right after the credits started, we also had a scene of stryker walking and being picked up by MP's "for the death of general so&so".

so based on another comment, it sounds like we can expect a magneto origins movie and/or more wolverine movies? while driving home last night, my wife and i were trying to figure out what they'd do next (if anything)...i just don't see the interest by most people in origins movies for the other x-men (cyclops? storm?), enough to appeal to casual fans at least...but my one thought was maybe doing one for magneto....i would love it but still not convinced that the general public would care enough...and i really hope they don't KEEP making wolverine movies just to make more $$...don't turn him into this generation's "Rocky"

I wonder if the bathroom scene and the Patrick Stewart cameo at the end were part of the infamous "reshoots." That might explain why the effects seemed so cheap and rushed.

The CGI work on Patrick Stewart was bad and stupid. They should've just shown him as is. Most people would've appreciated the cameo, as opposed to saying "Oh no! Professor X is older than he should be!"

did any other geeks watch the prison cells for any cameos? I saw one guy restrained that might have been quicksilver. I don't like how that was supposed to be Emma Frost without the telepathy, new england accent, or the ****ty outfits. Also, wasn't there a leaked promo pic of Gambit next to a white-haired black girl? I never saw it in the movie.

Overall, it was an enjoyable movie. I loved the final boss fight. I agree with the previous comments about the cgi in certain scenes. I can forgive them for changing the Hudsons from alpha flight members to expendable old people but I want to gripe about the lack of the VR visor on Logan at weapon x and the alterations of wade so that he can use other powers and that he used only swords. He more often uses firearms but also explosives or whatever is handy. He frequently is the wiley e coyote of marvel comics.

and couldn't any of the other prisonbreak mutants use their powers after being freed to fight or find their way out.

Why didn't Wolverine's girlfriend (Silver Fox?) power not work on Sabretooth?

Any other medical people watch the movie? Using Hydrochlorothiazide to stop the heart? You'll piss your pants but it won't simulate death.
