This is apparently the second half of season 5, which was held back due to the writers strike. I had kinda forgotten this show even still existed, it could have faded off and I doubt anyone would have even noticed. The first half of season 5 was beyond terrible. That said, the promo above kinda sucked me back in again, looks like it could be halfway decent.

After this, we will get 10 episodes in Jan 2010, and the show will conclude with a final 10 episodes in Jan 2011.

I would have noticed. I wish the writer's strike wouldn't have happened. Last season was supposed to be a full slate of episodes, and now all we get is the usual 10 or so.

This show died long ago...

The last things I remember seeing was Shaun getting stabbed repeatedly by the "fake agent." That wasn't a finale?

i do enjoy nip/tuck a lot. though I admit, I mainly watch for the eye candy. Any time I can get some naked Christian Troy on my screen, I'll take it.

They are choosing to call this year's season and last year's season 2 halves of the same season according to the OP, but as far as I'm concerned they are 2 separate seasons and that cliffhanger at the end last year was about equal to a typical finale on this show.

what?

the carver story was the worst thing ever on nip/tuck. it "jumped the shark" when that story line started.

Eden brought some strength back to the show.

Tomorrow night- set the DVR.

I stopped watching after they had the serial killer with no dick. His sister sure was hot though!

Hope it is a good season.

I have my DVR set for tonight. can't wait.

Good episode tonite. I like that they are finally giving Liz, a pretty underused character, some face time. Not enough Kimber, but there never is.

I'm going to miss Annalynne McCord.

this is one of those shows i try not to watch but just can't stay away. didn't know it was on till i stopped on FX by accident.

I missed a few moments last night. Was I supposed to be under the impression Sean can walk fine, but is just choosing to stay debilitated? i say him standing there and didn't know exactly what happened.

Yeah. I wasn't really sure what was going on with Seaon either. I kind of saw it two ways - 1 - the way you're talking, with the fact that he can actually walk fine, but is choosing to stay in the chair.

2 - that the creepy dream he had, seeing himself in the coffin, sparked something in him and BOOM! He was able to walk. STupid, maybe, but I wouldn't put anything past this show.

Regardless - I'm so glad it's back. ANd how ironic is it that Christian Troy ends up with breast cancer!!

I thought it was psychological. He physically could walk, but was too freaked out, too scared, to really give it the effort to discover it. So he wasn't really faking it when we saw him on the bars with Matt, just psychologically limiting himself for what he was really ready for physically.

Good episode last night. How long before Sean tags the blond student of his? I give it 2 episodes.

This show is about as outrageous as they come, and they've done some CRAZY things -- but for some reason, the scene last night with Liz and Christian getting it on bothered me and shocked me more than just about anything else they've done on the show. Just freaking strange and completely uncomfortable.

And I KNEW the blond student was a freak!!

Liz and Christian was weird.

30 seconds of Kimber doesn't cut it. They better get off their asses and get her involved.

Yeah, I'm not feeling the whole Liz/Christian relationship. That seems kind of out of character for Liz.

It was nice to see a few seconds of Eden. She has now covered her tracks with regards to shooting Julia. I wonder if she will make another appearance down the road.

The Liz/Christian thing seriously bothers me. I know they've always been close and really cared about each other, despite being hateful to one another..

But the sex thing from last week and then him wanting her to move in-- just too much. I realize they're both lonely, but it seems completely out of character for her. I hope it doesn't last.

I just started getting into the show the last couple of episodes last season. Can someone explain the little boy with Christian?

No. If I remember right, Christian nailed a nymphomaniac he met at a support group. She got knocked up, and he thought the kid was going to be his. The kid turned out to be black, but Christian took him in anyways.

The kid's grandparents show up from AZ and get custody.

I missed a season or two, so I don't know how Christian got the kid back.

I have officially checked out on the show. (The wife still likes it, shockingly and for no apparent reason, so it will remain on our DVR list, but I'm out). The "cutting off the breast with a meat saw in the middle of a full waiting room" moment was a final straw for me. Shocking and over-the-top was always what this show was about, but it still had a heart. Now they are just trying to top old stuff, and it's falling flat.

Seasons 1-3 (say what you will about the Carver storyline, it was still very intriguing up until the finale) were fantastic. It was shocking, fun, dramatic, and soapy and well-done, which is tough to pull off. After that, the show has become unwatchable.

There are multiple references above to actions being "out of character". Truth is, these people are characters anymore. They are characatures at best. They have done so many outrageous things, that nothing seems off anymore. Nothing about any of these people is remotely likeable anymore. Julia is quickly climbing to the top of the "Most Unlikeable Characters in History" list. Nothing she does makes you at all want to root for her. Sean was always somewhat OK, but the cripple thing has completely killed any likeability whatsoever. Christian, as unlikeable as he has always been, at least used to bring a little Kimber into the picture. But now he doesn't even bring that- we just have some terrible storyline between him and Liz.

The heart of this show was always the drama of Sean and his best friend working together, and the tension in his family life in the fact that his best friend fathered his child. Yet they all managed to make it work. I realized with this episode that I don't give a crap what happens to any of these characters any more.

That wasn't the kid's grandparents. The older man was Wilbur's father. Gina, being a nympho, had slept with the older man.

Wilbur's father got killed (I can't remember how), and Wilbur's older half-brother brought Wilbur to Christian because he couldn't or wouldn't raise him. Christian, of course, was happy to have Wilbur back.

That's right rex. Wilbur's dad fessed up to tagging the nympho, and his wife forgave him.

20ag07...i completely agree with just about everything you said. I dont know one person who still likes this show anymore; the sad thing is it used to be really good and my friends and my favorite show. It just went downhill after the carver though. So outrageous i cant take it anymore though.

I still watch, but it does suck now.
