I always have a hard time deciding between Gringo Honeymoon, Tom Ames' Prayer, and The Raven and the Coyote. All coincidentally off the same album.

And while Road Goes On Forever is usually the only single Keen song that I will routinely skip over whenever it plays, I really like Still Without You/Conclusion.

Yes it is. But the question didn't specify songs written by Keen so I'm assuming that anything he performs is fair game. And as much as I like Earle, I much prefer Keen's performance of it.

Actually shades of grey is about a bunch of small timers that get caught by the feds, but they weren't looking for major drug runners..they were out looking for the bombers of okc...that's why rek is specific about the time of month and year at the end of the song...

as for the best songs, have to go with...

I saw REK live in Austin in the late 90's and he played this song "Just like the Oiler's I just can't win" In reference to an Oiler's playoff game where they were up 34 points at half time, I think to the Bills and lost the game and didn't make the super bowl. Has anyone heard him play this before?

Impossible to pick a favorite song, REK is one of my all-time favorite artists. I don't think he has a song that I don't like. However, I can narrow it down to a top five. I think they've all been listed above, but they're highly deserving. As far as I'm concerned, these are the crème de la crème of Texas music:
