I've lived in Houston, Dallas, San Fran, and Charlotte - and I would prefer to live in B/CS over any of those places.

I've only been gone for about two months and I miss it already.

I would want to live in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio or Austin less, so I guess that's something.

no, but i've never seen the movie. i just saw this clip when i was looking for something else. i thought that it was funny. the whole lyle lovett, julia roberts, a&m connection... i used to think that BCS was a crappy town until i moved away to a town 10x crappier. it's no metroplex, but there are FAR, FAR worse places to live.

I came here to go to A&M in 1989 and never left. I guess I like it here.

The only saving grace of B/CS is A&M. I swear to God, if I didn't love A&M so much, I would have been went to UT just to live in Austin.

BCS is a great town to grow up in(yes born and raised here) it is a great town to be a college student in, it is a great town to raise a family in....BUT it is NOT a great town for singles who have graduated college already.

It's a good thing none of you are old enough to have seen Robert Mitchum being interviewed on TV about the various locations where he'd made movies. Asked what the worst one was, he was quick to reply that when he made WE'VE NEVER BEEN LICKED they took the cast to "some God-forsaken cow college in Texas" to make the movie.

As to the Julia Roberts quote, remember that her marriage to Lyle Lovett didn't end well. When they were together they'd visit his family in the Houston area and drive over here to eat at Los Nortenos and revisit his old haunts.

I get to CS as much as possible. I love the city.

CS really isn't that great. Really, I can't understand why people love it so much. I couldn't wait to get out when I graduated, it is such a crap hole.

I never went to school there but have visited some and gone to some games there and it seems like a pretty nice place to me.

I went to undergrad and grad school in austin and loved it but I grew up rural and can easily see why B/CS charms as many as it does.

Of course, I lived in Lubbock and Amarillo and liked both of them as well.

Well, College Station DOES suck. I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life there. Haven't been back since 1998. I want to visit though.

the only things i miss from bcs is cheap drinks, dry bean & harvey washbangers.
