Hmmmmm?

I know it's Cru Bombs Vibs Moon, but I was playing around with http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_food.html and am amazed at some of the things in there, in terms of calorie intake.

Makes you really think twice about Sonic Sizing those tots.

honestly, just a burger isn't that bad. If you had a burger and, say, and apple, and water or a diet soda, you'd be none the worse for wear. But, add cheese and that's 100 calories on its own, and then if you get a large fry that's another 500 calories.

Adding cheese to a burger adds 570 grams of sodium. yikes.

good question. I don't keep track of calories, I burn them all off anyway due to work. I do have to keep track of what % of my food is fat and cholesterol, and how much sodium there is.

I haven't eaten breakfast in years...on a good day (healthwise) it's probably 1500-1800 calories...most days it's probably 2200-2500...the bad days can get to God knows what...

I'm a 6'2" male, 200 lbs., and I'm consuming 900 calories a day right now. Trying to drop 20 pounds in the next 6 weeks.

However, the calories I eat are good calories. High protein, low fat, low sodium, medium carbs. And I take a multi-vitamin everyday.

Breakfast: High protein chocolate shake (100 cals)

Lunch: High protein chocolate shake (100 cals) and nutrition bar (250 cals)

Dinner: 8 oz. of lean chicken or lean steak (300 cals), a cup of soup (100 cals), and mixed vegetables (50 cals)

If I drink alcohol, it's a vodka martini (about 125 cals), but that's only once a week (if that).

Once I drop the 20 pounds, I plan to get back onto a more normal diet of 1500 cals/day, plus beer.

dude... I couldn't do that. I would be dead by mid afternoon. as it is now, even with a decent breakfast and a hearty lunch (definitely more than you're getting), I still need an afternoon snack to keep my energy up.

WTH are you losing 20 for? That sounds like good height/weight.

I'm 6'3" 230 and need to lose about 15-20 lbs of fat. I wouldn't mind being 220 if my body fat was 12-15%.

I workout 4-5 days a week, consume 2k-2.5k calories per day and I'm dropping a pound or two per week.

It was difficult the first week, believe me...I felt hungry a lot and was craving a double cheeseburger every night. But my body quickly adjusted and now I don't feel like I'm being starved. I also drink 8-10 glasses of water a day so that helps keep me feeling full.

I'm trying to lose some excess junk weight (fat and flab). 180 is my ideal weight because I have a skinny body type. By keeping my calories low but my protein high, the weight I lose will be fat and not muscle. I'm also doing cardio 3x a week.

My motivation for this was recently seeing a picture of myself from back in high school when I was on the swim team...I was 6'2", 175 lbs., and had 6% body fat.

I eat no breakfast and a fairly healthy lunch and dinner, no sodas (this is all a recent development since I broke 205 lbs, i used to eat much worse), but I snack waaaaaay too much. I'm trying to create a calorie equilibrium between cardio and snacking, but it isnt working. Even walking for 1 hour only burns ~350 calories. I'm 6"3, so 205 isnt that bad, but its all going to my midsection, and I think I need to get close to 190 if I want to try and get a strong midsection that is actually visible.

Whatever the cream in coffee has in it.

Multiply that by about 8, and you have my caloric intake for the day.

Too damn much I guess.

I've been trying to drop some more weight for the Hotter Than Hell ride next weekend, but dammitt, I keep losing fat and just putting the weight back on in leg muscle from training.

Looks like I'm stuck at 170 without drastic starvation, which I will never do.

Oh, and somebody call the exercise anorexic hotline for MkF.

I eat about 3500 right now, which will drop to 1500-2000 when I get back to weight loss mode for the last 15 lbs I want to drop.

currently, no more than 1400 a day, usually about 1200

I also do strength training 3 days a week and some cardio 5 days a week.

I want a healthy body for when I actually get pregnant

Bender.... have fun trying to keep those 20 lbs off if you're practically starving yourself everyday. You said yourself that "my body quickly adjusted and now I don't feel like I'm being starved". Good luck eating 600 MORE calories a day PLUS beer.

I'm just sayin.

Good god. Ironically, there's probably nothing very healthy about this approach whatsoever.

I am basically where you are now, and there's no way I would survive on that diet.

Kudos if you can make it work though...count me in as skeptical.

Mine yesterday was:

1546 calories eaten - 3565 calories burned = 2,019 caloric deficit.

at 900 calories, you'll lose a LOT of muscle as well as fat...

I've gone over a week on around 300 a day. You get used to it a lot better than you would think.

That might be true, but it certainly isn't the best way to lose weight and then keep it off

Bender, you want a real-world example of what you are doing?

When i was in 11th grade, i was 6'2" 245. i had been a large kid all my life and had just moved to my 3rd highschool, so i wanted a new image. I basically starved myself, eating a banana for breakfast, no lunch, and half of whatever we were eating for dinner that night. I lost 40 lbs in about 3-4 months. I got used to my stomach growling and me being hungry all of the time. I also went from being a decently-strong football player to being a puny POS who couldn't even bench his own weight.

The weight stayed off marvelously, as I had no real muscle mass to weigh me down.

As soon as i came to college at around 215, though, and started eating normally and lifting weights, my weight shot RIGHT back up to 240 in a matter of months. I gained weight like a machine, and there was NOTHING i could do about it.

You have got to find a happy medium. Limiting your body's intake is NOT the answer, i can assure you. You will lose the weight, but you will lose it in muscle and not the fat you are hoping to.

Good luck, but do some reading before you decided to annihilate your body.

After adding in the beer I had 3300 yesterday and suppossedly burned 2655. I must have done more work that I entered though because I'm about 2lbs lighter today than yesterday.

Man I need to stay away from the Bell.

I just looked on line on what it took to burn 3500 calories...good lord. Kudos to your work out plan!

FYI, it came out to be like 3.5 hours of competitive sports, 5+ hours of weight lifting, 4 hours of cardio (bike)...(note, for 200lbs).

I eat at least 2000 most days, sometimes more sometimes less.

I'm losing weight though because I'm eating for two. I'll have to cut back once I shut down the milk bar.

for me its around 1500 to maintain (~1200 to lose)...id rather work out more and dbl my efforts than cut my calories drastically

i went down to 900 a day once and felt like crap....

1. Hawt.

2. You could always breast-feed into 3rd or 4th grade.
aggiegolfer03
How long do you want to ignore this user?
diehard...most of your calories are burned by your body just operating normally.

3500 burned doing excercise-yes that's quite a lot of excercise.

but if you actually did that in a day, depending on your weight, you'd actually burn somewhere in the ballpark of 5500-6500 cals.

I LOSE weight when i eat under 3000.
