So what's the best way to go about getting some money back for this thing. I have the paperwork and everything on it. Plus, I have the wedding band too. Are there stores that will buy it back or am I better off selling it myself?

it's old news. i've had the ring for awhile, now i'm going to sell it.

If you've had it less than a year, it should still be covered and you should get your money back.

I'd argue that if you have the paperwork, chances are they'd take it back under any circumstances. If the store where you bought it doesn't, try another one.

Good luck. The best you should be aiming for is 60% of the diamond's maket value. Since you bought it from Zales, you got totally ripped off anyway and paid 50-100% more than the actual value of the diamond, so...

Pretty sure that my ex got his ring from Zales ( i never saw it so I don't know). he was able to sell it back since i dumped him before he was ever able to give it to me.

Selling sucks. I've been trying to offload my set for six months. Posted it on Craig's List this weekend.

To answer your question...

1. They do not. There is a return policy (30 days for refund, 90 days for store credit I believe.)

2. If you are out of return, you can trade the ring in on something that is at least double the sale price of the ring (i.e. if you paid $5K for the ring, you can trade it in on a piece that is $10K or more.)
