My buddy invented the word 'ridonkulous' (a mix between ridiculous and donkey) only to hear Tina Fey use it during SNL Weekend Update. The evolution of the word ridonkulous was totally independent for us... we had never heard it used before. Kinda like how Newton and that other guy both invented calculus at the same time.
