The receptionist and night hostess at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors, Maggie Olsen passed away last Thursday from a pulmonary embolism. She was 88.
Up until that day, she was bright and active. She always worked herself too hard, we all thought. She was at Geo. H. Lewis for 35 years and had become an institution in the funeral business.
What is so remarkable about her passing is that she never had to worry about anyone having to take care of her or being in an assisted living facility. She lived a long, fulfilling life right up to the end, and then she was taken from us quietly with no long, drawn out goodbye. That's the way to go.
