I order this bad boy tomorrow and I need some Aggie advice quickly.

I plan on wearing this ring everyday (except for when I sleep, shower, workout, or do manual labor) for the rest of my life.

I am getting the antique style finish and no diamond. The only thing I cannot decide on is 14K or 10K.

Most people say 10K is more durable and will last longer(they say the 14K will dent all to hell). My mom says both would be durable but the 14K will have a better gold luster and look better.

I have yet to find an Aggie with a 14K ring and would like to hear what anyone has to say about them.

If you are getting antique then it's not a big deal b/c it will be dark anyways.

i also say get the 10K. thats what mine is and its still pretty banged up, i cant imagine the 14K

The only person that will know the difference will be you. 10K will definitely not get quite the amount of dings. 14K is a waste of $$.

In 20 years, if everyone can read the year on your ring, they'll know its a 10k. But will still look like an aggie ring. My boss' 14k aggie ring looks like a band with a diamond on top (it's that freakin worn). Go with 10k

10K. That's what I have, and it still has a lot of dings. Some of my 4 is missing. Is there anyway I can have that fixed? It's character, I know, but I'd like to at least have the entire 4.

Only way you can get the 04 fixed is if they repour your ring. Which they just give you a new one. It's not like they make it out of your old one.

I got 14k (white) just cause thats how I roll - haven't had any major issues with mine getting dinged up, but i'm pretty careful about it and take it off if i'm doing something where I know it could get banged up. If you dont care about how well it holds its luster though, go with the 10k.

Get 10, and wear it all the time like a real Ag.

I didn't know you had a choice. In my day, they were all 10K and you can still read everything. All my Dad's generation had were 14K, and most were worn beyond recognition when I was in college.

I have 10K and if I could do it over again I'd choose 14K. You can most definitely pick out a 10K vs. 14K. The 10K looks much more orange.

I am fairly certain mine was a 10K. I rarely ever take it off and it still has worn to a point that the shield is barely visible, the date wore off years ago, the star if faintly visible on one side but the cannon, rifles and flags on the other side can be made out fairly well. My main concern is that the bottom of the ring is less than 1/8 inch wide, having been worn next to a wedding ring for many years. I sent it off to Balfour a couple of months ago for buffing and it gleams like a new one ... quite remarkable for 50 years of tough wear and tear. I don't think a 14K would have lasted as long as I have. Think about it ... Balfour offered to buy it back for the value of the gold and apply it on the purchase of a new ring but I graciously declined ... the old Ring and I have aged gracefully together over the years.

Get the 10K, so in 20 years, people will still recognize it as an aggie ring.
