I don't have a problem with a girl being attracted to "success." However, I don't want someone to like me just BECAUSE I'm succesful.

Money is a bonus. I'm dating a guy who is broke as heck right now. Doesnt bother me one bit, but he's about to graduate w/ a degree in electrical engineering so I know he'll be bankin soon enough.

It would be very hard to date someone who was really broke. I'm not shallow...but I HATE money because I'm sick of never having any. I do NOT want to go through life constantly worrying about paying bills or not knowing if I can pay for my kids college education etc etc.

I want my man (and myself) to make enough income to live comfortably.

While she's out making money, I get to search for inner truth and personal harmony.

Interesting question. Mrs GD and I have a good friend from grad school - he was married while in grad school, worked successfully for about 5 years for a large company - one of their most successful people and was pulling in about $150K+ per year. Left it to move to a much smaller start-up where he is the president. Pulling in total comp of high six figures/low 7 depending on bonus. Had adopted a couple of kids along the way. Worked from 5 in the morning until who knows when at night. They got divorced last year.

Have to keep things in perspective...

I work with workaholics. Some of them are too busy at work to date. One guy I know literally works from 8:30 AM - 11:00 PM or later 6 or 7 days a week. He doesn't get any more work done than I get done in 50-60 hours a week.
