My bro-in-law was the drummer in a punk band and one of their biggest fans was this old lady who would help book their shows every once in a while. Well, she died but had made it clear that she wanted them to play at her funeral.

He said it was the most bizarre and uncomfortable scene ever...you've got all these people at her funeral, some of them getting into the music, most of them mortified.

At a local funeral for a rather elderly man they played a tape of ole Tennesse Ernie Ford singing "The Old Rugged Cross". Didn't bother to listen to the tape before the services. Half way through the song turned into a real knee-slappin', hand clappin', pew hoppin' rhythm with Ernie yelling "evvverrryyboddddy sing now!". Gave everyone, especiallly the famiy, a giggle!

That's hilarious anaggiemom, reminds me of a redneck friend of mine in Alabama who couldn't believe they played "Man of Constant Sorrow" from the "Oh Brother" soundtrack at her AUNT"S funeral (true story).

Whoever said "Dead and Bloated" by STP is the winner of this thread.
