hahahhaha, hell no. after the designated add/drop days you can get no money back. even on the add/drop days, you will get less money back each day you wait to drop. (ie first day full refund, last day some percentage)

****ers!!! Well then I'm gonna wait til the last day to drop it just so he and the registrar have to process my grades and do all the other work they should do to earn that money. I will have my first F at midterm, woohoo!!!

yes you do get degrees of refund and unused AggieBucks unless the deadline is past then you just use up a Q drop (they will refund Aggie Bucks at anytime short of the last week or two of the semester)

Why does the schedule say that Monday (2 days ago) was the last add/drop day?
That would be 10.
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just confused

no you are wrong. i work in this office and i can tell you that if you drop now you do get a percentage back, but it's very small (20% right now i believe). you have to go through your advisor to drop and then wait for the refund to generate.

Monday (the 5th class day) was the last day to add/drop.

You can Q-drop until sometime in April.

But if you Q-drop by the 12th class day, you get a full refund for that one class. After that, you can still Q-drop but you get no money back.

If you withdraw completely to 0 hours, that is when you only get a percentage of you money back, for the first 3 weeks or so.

http://clla.tamu.edu/uss/advising/howto/qdrops.html:

"The deadline to submit a Q-drop form is the 50th class day of a fall or spring semester, the 15th class day of summer term or the 35th class day of a 10-week summer semester--the deadline is listed on the current Admissions and Records Calendar at http://www.tamu.edu/admissions/records/academic_calendar.

Q-drops in 1 hour courses, except for courses taught by the College of Science or College of Geosciences, are unlimited. Q-drops processed by the 12th class day receive a full refund in the fall and spring semesters; after that time, there is no refund; check the current Course Schedule Book for refund rules and dates. The University rules for q-drops can be found at http://student-rules.tamu.edu/ in section 1.16.2. "

My favorite profs where the ones who would remind the class when Q drop date was approaching... they were so helpful.

I once got a note on my exam in Chem 102, saying "DD-MM is the last day to qdrop" I can't remember what the actual date was.... maybe that's why I did so bad in that class.

I made a 17 on that exam, so I took her advice.

Thanks guys, totally sweet! I'm waiting to hear from one last scholarship if it's ok for me to drop below 12 hours but if I don't hear back by Tuesday I'm doing it anyways so I'll get the full refund. It's my first qdrop, I was so close to finishing without using one.

how are you so sure that you would fail the class ten days into the semester?
ExPLK

Not really fail but get a prof that gives too much work or gives out grades on the bell and you know that it will be hard to score the A you want in that class.

I understand that, but the original poster said that he would have his first F at midterm. I took that to mean that he has no hope.

You have no faith in yourself...

No I meant that if you don't get a refund for the class, I wasn't going to go to class, just wait til the last day to q drop and then drop it just so everybody would have to do some work to earn the money I was spending. So, I would have an F at midterm since I never went to class.

No, I'm not a slacker. This is my first and prob only q drop. I have taken much more difficult courses than the one I dropped (I'm U4 BIMS major) and I have a gpa most would kill for. I have reasons for dropping it. It's not changing when I graduate, which is next spring btw, meaning I'll finish up in four years so I must not be too much of a slacker or have too little faith in myself.
