Due to an irresponsible person mascarading as a plumber (me), a friend of mine had about 200 square feet of her house flooded. I had spent the last couple of evenings re-installing some laminate wood flooring that was pulled up to remove the water. Once we figured out the keys to installation, it went back together pretty quickly. However, it was not without incident.
1. The stupid and lazy flooring contractor glued some of the panels together making a few of them impossible to remove without destroying them. The water damage to the floor was minimal, but the damage due to removing glued panels was not insignificant. This was in spite of the instructions on the box that say "DO NOT GLUE". Dumbasses.
2. The builder was gracious enough to leave a couple of boxes of replacement panels behind just in case we needed to do a repair. Unfortunately, we had to use quite a few us the spares. The problem now is that, as I look at the last box, this particular flooring was made in Luxembourg and imported by some folks in Bonita Springs, FL who I can't even find on the internet. Other searches for this flooring (Lux Floor Fix or Lux Loc) in the United States have been unsuccessful.
Spec home builders really piss me off. If any of you scheisters know where I can get more of this stuff, let me know. I'd hate to have to replace the whole floor if another accident happens and I can't find replacements for this off-spec stuff.
