Ok, I have read all the other threads and I am seriously considering having the procedure done. Anyone have any advice, specifically personal experiences?

I had it done this summer. My vision prior to surgery was in the 1000's. Now it is 20/15. Couldn't be happier, it's the best decision I've ever made.

I had this done something like 3-4 years ago. Well worth it, but I had terrible vision prior to the procedure. Plus, at the time our insurance covered it so it was cheap.

There are two words that arent spelled correctly.....

I did it four or five years ago. It was alot more expensive back then, but worth every penny.

I went and they told me I could only get it in one eye. I was like, what's the point in that!!

Do you have a DR? I can recommend a good one.

I don't have one chosen yet, I would have to check with my insurance but since Dr. Booth and Dr. Tylock seem to have the most advertising I might go with one of those two.

Wal-Mart does a lot of advertising too.

Do you know any optometrists? ask them who to recommend. Ask your eye doctor who they would go to for the surgery. Please don't trust your eyes to somebody because they have a lot of billboards. Do some research and find the Surgeon YOU WANT operating on your eyes.

BTW: I had it done about a year and a half ago and love it. it is fantastic.

have 4 friends that have gone to him & they have all been very positive.

ChargerAg listened to his mother and stoped touching himself. So he has 20/20 vision.

I went to Key-Whitman laser center with Dr. Whitman. He's done more procedures than Booth and Tylock. He's one of the priceier ones, but includes all appointments and guarantees the procedure.

I went to the seminar so they knocked $100 off and fed us fajitas. Plus, they have a lifetime guarantee as long as you keep all your checkup appointments, which are included in the price. The consultation took an hour or so the day before the procedure. The surgery itself took about 5 minutes. Went home and took a nap. Woke up with 20/20 vision. Worked the next day.

Best money I ever spent.

Dr. Bolton in Mesquite. Very, very good. (And he's an Ag!). I had mine done in 2000. Drove all the way from CS to have it done.

tylock is an ass...I would not go to him.

Why on earth would you ask optometrists? most don't know jack about any keratorefractive procedures (eg. LASIK or PRK). Optoms basically can give you glasses, contacts and prescribe topical drops. if they do recommend anyone its because they are co-managing (they get a referral fee).

Dr. Gelender in Dallas did my eyes in 2002 and it was awesome! I still see 20/20 with no problems.

I agree on why ask an optometrist I did ask my dr in Houston but he only recommended houston docs, my decision on dr will be mostly based on word of mouth.
