Dealing with about 12 hours of continuous rain from Hurricane Isaias where it made landfall in Destin, FL about 230 miles south of us. We have some stronger winds outside now. We pre-cooked some turkey and made a batch of pasta sauce with it and also cooked up some noodles anticipating power outages.
The local Sheriff's Office opened up its training facility as a shelter with actual accommodations for pets in case people in low lying areas needed some dry place to rest and sleep for the night. State troopers here are also deployed with chainsaws to help remove fallen trees and debris.
The big drama is going to be whether an actual SEC game will be cancelled on account of hurricane over in Tuscaloosa.
Meanwhile, out west, they actually moved up the start of the Utah-Kansas game due to Hurricane Rachel in the Pacific spinning off a lot of rain. But the critters are fed and coffee is made.
Because a good hurricane/college football Saturday starts with good coffee.
