I gave my cats both a Capstar tablet last evening to kill fleas. Poor Callie was infested, and it seemed wise to treat Lucy Cat as well.
Callie did *not* react well to the medicine. She started emitting this awful gutteral moan, was panting, pooped on my carpet, and then went and hid in my closet. Fleas were jumping off of her. She stopped panting after a few minutes, but the moaning went on and on. She then spent about an hour in my lap before she started returning to normal. Poor little kitty.
Upper 40s this morning on our way up to the mid 70s this cloudless afternoon. Will open my windows shortly.
Capstar drives the fleas crazy which causes them to start biting and jumping around like crazy, which drives the cat crazy. It would be like getting attacked by sugar ants all over I imagine for us. Then the fleas die off and they start going back to normal.
Hope you are DEEP cleaning your place if she was that infested. Had a bout of fleas with a child hood cat and it took weeks I swear to finally stop the occurrences. Washed everything like ten times, cleaned the carpets and mattresses over and over, etc. Straight up didn't have a good time. Though I imagine modern specialized cleaning products do a much better job nowadays.
Poor thing, give her scritches for me pls!
