Will setting up stuff with the temporary computer at work. Actual one is here, but wasn't set up right and working needs to fix it

Hopefully I can sweet talk someone into installing OpenShell because I forgot just how bad the default start menu in Windows 11 is

I am home for the next week! No travel at all, which is exciting. Also excited for some rain and cooler temps this week here on the mean streets of metro College Station.

Enjoy dinner at La Mesa, ARKY!

Learning a lot about maintaining our pool. I canceled my pool service because all they did was dump chlorine tabs in the tower. The water balance has really been off so I've learned how to manage chlorine, calcium, ph, etc.

It's not hard but getting certain numbers in range can be difficult if they were really off. I need to still replace the ozone bulb in that contraption which means addressing a 220 breaker - I don't know which one it is so I need to pull the panel off to see. Obligatory....

Slept great.

I walked the Aussie this morning and then the wife walked the schipperke. She saw a line of Starlink satellites go by while she and little dog were out. I'm jealous. I have not seen that yet.

Dropped her vehicle off for service and picked her up and took her to work. Have to run her to some going away party this afternoon and go get her vehicle.

Need to find a taker for a spare ticket to Rush in Houston on Thursday. My friend bought four and only three are spoken for at this point.

Kitties and puppies were cute this morning and wanted pets and scritches. And the Aussie wanted to chase bunnies.

Fuego already purchased and consumed since my usual schedule was out of whack this morning.

  • Didn't sleep well at the hotel.
  • Half tempted that if a Target down the road has a pillow that I will buy one. BUT it is a tiny Target, more like a Walgreens with like 25 articles of clothing for men and women. No kids clothes. Like all very basic stuff.
  • Sitting in a teaching and learning summit all day.
  • Dinner and travel work tonight.
  • It's currently 59 with a high of 71. Woohoo! It was glorius outside at the zoo yesterday.

It's a good think I spend lots of money on cat beds, toys, enrichment feeders etc. for my cats.

If I didn't one of them might find an empty shipping box, find it so enthralling they play with it all afternoon, tire themselves out, then fall asleep in said box.

Margo would never stoop so low as to do something like that.

nope just a run of the mill black cat. The photo was hazy for some reason. One of my other cats Rufus looks like a knock off Russian Blue but he's just a grey shorthair.
