Houston for work stuff this morning. Primrose for dinner tonight before I essentially take the next three days off because Mrs scd88 and I (mostly me during the week) get to spend time with our 17 month old grandson (starting tomorrow) through the weekend. So excited to have him over. Things I want to do this week but need to figure out:

MSC - he gets to run around in open, air conditioned space.
Houston on Thursday to take him to see my parents. Maybe hit up the zoo or Children's Museum.
Would love to take him on a bus ride; need to figure out those logistics, though.

  • Gotta do onboarding papers today for a start date of tomorrow with the local place
  • Decline 2nd round interview with Airbus, thank them for offering to set it up but they just took a little too long and someone else beat them to the punch
  • The upside with all this, no moving to Mobile, having to sell this place and find somewhere else to live (mortgage rates really went up since 2022!), modifying custody agreement, ...
  • Got things to do so I need to get started on it

Musings of a morning flight

- someone is ripping ketchup & onion SBD farts in the cabin (it's actually not me) … but I can taste it

- I get its 'kinda' early, but every window down and pitch black kinda licks when I'm wide ass awake

- somehow 2 bloody marias in non-baller first class on an ERJ are a delightful start to the day

- the lady in the other row has such severe duck lips injections it's like a GD comic book - or she got stung by bees?

Sitting by an open window this morning and got chilly. Had to pull a flannel shirt out of the closet. Nice.

I bought this particular shirt at LL Bean in Maine in the summer of 2003. It still looks as good as the day I bought it. Made to last.

EDIT - Might have to put socks on next. Fall is here.

My "I'm getting old and cranky" moment of the day.

If you don't give me the option of real people checking me out from the grocery store (or the line is 10 people long because you only have one register open), don't be surprised when if your fancy self-checkout machine doesn't recognize a barcode or otherwise screws up I just leave my stuff there and walk out.

Slept great last night

Some good meetings today and got some stuff off my plate. Not enough, but made a good dent

Tacos were had

Dinner tonight was one of those low-carb HEB meal simple things, whatever they are called They are good but it's not enough! I'm hungry!

We got a little rain. I'll take it

Knocked out some small chores while the food was in the oven

Maybe a walk later if it's not raining, and a trip to the parts store. Air the wife's vehicle tires. Replace a battery cable connector on the truck
