College Station is getting a Sprouts…it opens Friday. What are your favorites? What should we avoid?

I always found them to be a solid 'meh.'

We have Sprouts up here in the Denver area. Actually one near my house now in Aurora. They're all right overall. Definitely not a big game changer though. Prices tend to be on the high side for most things but they do have a pretty good selection.

Higher priced than your average grocery store but they do have some interesting things. You can buy beef colostrum, for example.

Produce is usually pretty solid.

It's a better Whole Foods, albeit with less options.

Disclaimer: I view WF with considerable hatred.

I was going to make that comparison too. Whole Foods has some decent deals if you have a Prime membership. Sprouts is better in some ways though.

Our Sprouts closed and turned into a Trader Joe's. I go to neither but seems the area prefers the latter.

They stock items you'll struggle to find in a "mainstream" grocery store. Prices do tend to be high, but it's because the items you'll find there are priced like that anywhere. Many items are on the "crunchy", "clean" (whatever that means), "limited ingredients" spectrum, so people following any kind of restricted diet can find ready-made foods that fit their preferences.

In CS particularly, they will bring products that you cannot find in any other store here. Many places with a Sprouts also have Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, Trader Joe's, etc., so there's overlap (and competition). It will be a unique offering here in CS!

My alarm for Friday is set, and my grocery budget is ready!

You should give Trader Joe's a shot, they have a lot of items I really like. Here are a few recommendations

-Garlic Naan (frozen section)
-Mint mouthfuls (mini mint chip ice cream sandwiches)
-Hold the Cone mini ice cream cones
-White bread
-Frozen microwave dinners, especially the Indian food
-Soup dumplings (frozen section)

They also have seasonal items I look forward to every year.

Sprouts is ok. When I'm in the mood for tuna steaks that's where I go to get them

One opened up near us several months ago. My wife and daughter love getting the sandwiches from their deli.

They will have occasional BOGO sales that are good on niche items. Frozen fish, protein bars, etc.
Like others said... Not a get all your groceries place but good for specialty items.

You can't buy your full basket of goods at sprouts. But produce is solid. Meat is solid. Bakery is solid.

Thought this was another salad joint concept like Souper Salad

Great place to shop when other grocers are packed full of holiday shoppers.
