I don't know if this place has been discussed yet. I stopped in a few minutes ago just to check it out. Ho Lee Fook, what a **** hole.
Just a big old Conn's with rows of dump bins. Couldn't see any sort of organization, just rows of crap in bins. I didn't see any pricing, so I don't even know if it is cheap. Admittedly, I didn't look very hard. I didn't want to touch anything. People were picking up shirts, then just chunking them back into the dump bin like it was their hamper. They were checking receipts at the door, worse than Costco, like they had anything worth a crap to steal. I understand that poor folks need to buy stuff too, but good riddance when this craphole is gone.

they had something similar when I lived up north.
I went in once. I personally don't like those kinda places but I've known people to find good bargains on school supplies

I went to one in Tyler a while back. It was a dump and almost everything was garbage except the expensive items like vacuums on the side. I think they priced everything in the bin at a flat rate that might actually be more than Amazon.

Supposedly it's wild on Friday after they've restocked on Thursday.

I'll never go back.

Some people live for rummaging through bins looking for "deals". Zero exaggeration. It's an offshoot of the extreme couponing thing or garage sales fanaticism. Got a couple in my extended family.

You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it
You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it

Some knock-off jeans
With irregular seams
Some chairs made of beans
And some beauty creams
Christine Auguilera
Black mascara
Corn tortillas
And some brown aloe vera

You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it
You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it

Some socks with flames
Some pills for your pain
Some razors infused
With the essence of rain
A cigarette lighter
That says I'm a quitter
And a fish that sings
"Take me to the river"

You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it
You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it

Panty hose
NoDoz
And I suppose
There's even some clothes
That you wear well
And make you smell
The smell you smell
When you get out of jail

You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it
You can get more at that poor people's store
That poor people's store's where you can get it

My wife has gotten into thrifting over the last year, and I'm always surprised by the incredible deals she finds on clothing. The number of things she brings home that still has tags is surprising. I hate going to those stores because they are so unorganized and usually smell weird, but I was bored a month ago and went with her on a Saturday morning. I walked out of there with 12 dress shirts by Peter Millar, Brooks Brothers, and Charles Tyrwhitt for a total of $12 + tax. Half of them still had tags and the others were freshly dry cleaned and looked like they'd never been worn. I guess some guy's wife decided it was time for his shirts to go.

This place isn't a thrift store. This is some weird overstock or Amazon return crate place.

There was a crazy hot buys in humble (still is). BUT it used to be soooooo much better.

I became an eBay seller because of that store and made over 20k in 1 year reselling stuff I bought from there.

I was way into it and would camp out overnight every week to be one of the first 5 In line.

This was about 2 years ago now. But they would get great stuff. Some of the top items I got:
PS5
iPhone 14 Pro
Trijicon red dot sight
Dyson air wraps
NVIdia graphics cards
And tons of other stuff like ariat boots, hokas, Lego sets.
Most of them for only $16-25 each.

It was the highlight of my week

But all good things come to an end. The owner must have sold to someone else with a different biz plan because all of a sudden inventory got CRAPPY.

From premium name brand Amazon returns to cvs/walgreens/walmart toy level crap or boxes and boxes of off brand Chinese Amazon knockoffs

I am legitimately sad about how bad the store is now.

If you could get stuff that good, it would be more interesting but at some point you'd expect that stuff to get intercepted by the store.

I don't think I've ever been to Ollie's in Tyler. The one in Marshall has ok stuff sometimes.

had a buddy who owned a store like this up in Nashville. Would get amazon returns and then sell them to the public. He got anything and everything, and made a killing. People would line up outside his warehouse on the days he restocked. Was pretty impressive.

yes, those lines on restock days could get pretty wild.

Im only slightly embarrassed to say i was one of those wild people. I did get in plenty of arguments with people who would try to jump in front of those who had been waiting for a long time.

If the store would get back to how it was when I was willing to do that, I would be back overnight in a heartbeat. It was fun, made some "line friends", and made a good amount of money.
